A little help with my Canon PowerShot A720 IS ?

Hi ,
I bought a Canon PowerShot A720 IS last year, and after moving, I lost my user's manual. I'm just wondering if it is possible to do Colour Swap with the camera. If so, how do you get access to it?

Thank you .

You can download the User Guide for the A720 IS from the link below...

In answer to your question...No, the A720 IS does not have the Colour Accent or Colour Swap feature.

Your camera doesn't offer the color swap feature.

Is there anything better than Canon PowerShot A720 for its price?

I don't want to spend anymore. I just want something better for the same price if there is one.

Here is one you might consider. It is almost the same except for the zoom. You can compare them here. The A590 is supposed to be a very good camera, and is cheaper.

Which camera is better overall the Canon PowerShot A720 IS or the Nikon coolpix S51?

They are both about the same price and have almost the same features. I'm kind of leaning towards the canon because of brand name but am not sure. Ill be using the camera mainly for pics of friends and family for fun and maybe some video as well. Thnx to whoever helps me out!

If you are looking for brand name, BOTH Nikon and Canon are the brands the pros use.

If you are looking for a cool camera, then go to the store and hold both in your hands ... see which one fits the best in your hands and which is easiest for you to navigate through their menus.

The Nikon is slimmer, so it will fit in your pocket or bag easier and it uses the state of the art Li-ion batteries which hold charges longer and last for years. For about $50 more you can get the S51c which has WiFi connectivity. The Nikon also has a stronger flash (higher guide number) and larger LCD. The 16:9 image ratio option is sort of cool ... the "wide screen" look

The Canon has a longer reach optical zoom lens.

i would definitely go with the canon there the bigger name

My advice is to go with the Canon PowerShot A720. Nikon point-and-shoot digital cameras just can't compete with Canon because Canon invested heavily in digital camera technology before it started to boom, and now all the other camera companies (Nikon included) are scrambling to catch up. Here's a good comparison: I've had a Canon PowerShot A520 for three years and have had no problems with it, but in the same time period my cousin has bought two Nikon digital cameras and both have had problems and eventually died on him. He bought a Canon in May at my suggestion and likes the Canon a lot better.

What memory card should I get for my canon powershot a720?

I want a good one, which do you recomend and WHY? Thanks!

Your camera takes secure digital.

Generally speaking, I would stick with name-brand memory. Thus, you should avoid generic brands or super cheapy brands like PQI. You'll find that the cheap memory will fail sooner, or may in some cases even fail to read/write.

Reliable big brands: Sandisk, Kingston, Ridata, and Transcend. Possibly reliable: Lexar, which had issues with pro-level cards a few years back.

The best cards are the Sandisk Extreme and Sandisk Ultra series of cards, with Kingston Elite Pro cards right up there. Ridata/Transcend cards are pretty fast too.

I would avoid PQI memory cards; I've had them fail on me. People buy them because they are priced significantly cheaper than other cards, but there's a reason why they're cheaper.

Watch out for counterfeit cards as well. Here's a buyer's guide for Sandisk cards:

Get a couple of 1GB cards. They are cheap now and you will never have to delete an image in the camera again. Of course shoot at the highest resolution your camera will support, you never know when you may want a huge photo of something you shot.

Deleting images in your camera is the major cause of lost images. Download your images to your camera before you delete anything.

Get some 2 G cards. You can take some good mini movies but you need a big card.

Is it possible to attach an old FD mount lens to a Canon Powershot A720?

I heard you could buy adapters of the sort but does anyone know of any specific products?

Even if you could somehow adapt it, the minuscule sensors used in most digital compacts, including this one, would turn even an ultra-wide-angle lens into a telephoto.

The Powershot A720 is a point-and-shoot. You can't attach ANY lenses to it.

If you want to use an FD lens you'll need to get an SLR. Canon's current SLRs use the EF mount system so you'll need an adaptor. It's not really worth it though as the adaptor costs a fair bit of money and you'll need to focus manually. Also, modern lenses (even the cheaper ones) are quite a bit better than older lenses.

Of course it is.

Which camera is better in Canon IXUS 80 IS or Powershot A720 IS?

I just bought a canon powershot A720 IS digital camera. Am I making a right choice between these 2 models? I bought powershot because of its 6x optical zoom cos I feel that it can zoom in more..haha.. but I feel that I'm buying an outdated or so called 'old' model, because it isn't pocket size, and my friends around me have those pocket size cameras..uhmm..so which is a better choice for me..in terms of quality? Or can someone assure me that I've made the right choice? Anyway these are the descriptions:

Powershot A720 IS
bigger (200g)
6x optical zoom
use 2 AA batteries (alkaline / rechargeable)
made in china
$449

IXUS 80 IS
slim, pocket size (125g)
3x optical zoom
use AC adaptor for battery
made in japan
$399

Have you tried taking pictures yet? Cameras aren't out of date after one year. Both are good cameras... it's how you use them that counts.

which camera is better Canon PowerShot SD850 IS or Canon PowerShot A720 Is?

hi,
SD850 is 4x optical zoom and costs $220 and A720 is 6x optical zoom and costs $200. and both have 8 Mega Pixel.
what is the difference in this. and which is better to buy.

A720: typical creative compact camera, has full manual controls, more useful zoom range, can be used with filters.
SD850: typical stylish camera, but still very handy.

Both are very good, anyways. If you like A720's features I listed, go for it. If you want a nice camera with attractive design, choose the SD850.

How good is the Canon PowerShot A720?

I think my parents got me one for Christmas. It looks pretty nice. Thought I'd just see other people's opinions?

Canon generally makes outstanding cameras. Most point and shoot digital cameras will take outstanding pictures when used properly, but no camera is better than the photographer who in using it. Study and understand your camera a little, and it will take outstanding pictures for you.

When i power on my Camera (Canon Powershot A720 IS), i get a white screen. I am not able to take photos.Although i can see the power signal glowing.I use rechargable batteries, i have even checked using other batteries, but the display is just white. Please help

Can I use my Canon Powershot A720 as a webcam?

Would this work?

call them and see if they have the wire that you would need
some cameras and video cameras can be used as webcams, all you need is the right wire
