ok so ive had this camera for years now...and i take videos on it but they just sit on there cuz i have NO IDEA how to get them onto my mac comp
like people tell me to just do the same thing u do for uploading pics but it doesnt work is there a specific application i need to do it or sumthin??
i will seriously love u if u help me cuz i have no freaking clue.....like i said mac computer, Canon Powershot A75

All you have to do is connect the camera to your Mac with the USB cord. Turn the camera on (not to take photos but the other setting). iPhoto will turn on and connect to your camera. iPhoto will download the videos to iPhoto. You will see them just like the regular photos. Just click on the video and it will play. You can export it or save it to the desktop.

To shoot in BW you have to change your mode from Auto to P or Tv, or Av, or M. If you are not too familiar with the camera controls I would leave it in P. P is just like Auto, only that it will let you have a bit more features. Once you are in P press function and sellect the Photo Effect from the menu. In Photo Affect you will find as the last feature the BW. In the same place you have sepia too, that can be cool in certain situations. On the internet you can find a detailed description of Canon A70, that is a bit more older version of your camera, but the features are more or less the same: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona70/

It does have video recording capability, I'm not sure if it's possible to use as a webcam or if it's even possible to use special effects with it.

We have a Canon Powershot A40 and a Canon Powershot A75, and I would like to know what the maximum card size supported is for each of these. Please could you only answer if you are sure your information is correct for *these* *models* - any answer starting 'I think' isn't very helpful...

I know that a canon powershot a75 can go up to at least a gig but not sure if it go higher. look up the memory card at bestbuy.com or something to see.

That's a big issue with a digital camera. Normally, I'd suggest trying to find a repair shop or calling Canon up. In your situation though, I'm going to make a completely different suggestion.

I think you should get a new camera. I'm not going to tell you what to buy, that's up to you and obviously depends on what you really use your camera for.

I'm making this suggestion because your camera is 4 years old and 1/2 the quality of most newer digital cameras out there. So repairing your older camera might cost a pretty penny when you could put that pretty penny towards a newer camera.

Obviously if you're still using a 3.2 megapixel camera, you're not obsessed with the best quality since most newer cameras coming out this year are 8+ megapixels.

You could get a 7 megapixel model from last year on sale at a store for less than $150 and it'll take twice the quality of your current camera which probably cost you $250+ brand new 4 years ago.

Canons are a good brand, I know this, I have a PowerShot A510 that is 3 years old and also only 3.2 megapixels. I myself am looking to upgrade, which is why I made this suggestion to you.

If you're in love with your old camera and don't want to upgrade, then I'd look into finding a repair shop.

This camera doesn't have a nightvision mode. You may be thinking about infra-red (IR) photography. In that case, you'll need a lens adapter such as this in order to attach an IR filter - http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/A85A75A70A60.html

your asking for a printer to print your digital camera pictures? might i suggest a brother printer model NFC 210c under $100.00 and works really awesome for all applications not only picture's and ink cartridges are cheap for this printer thats what i use and if you look on the web for cheap printer cartridges you will see really cheap ink
