How do I fix this problem on my canon powershot s30?

When I slide the front cover open to turn it on, it just doesent turn on.

Change your batteries- do you have your card in fully, are the doors all closed properly- Alas I had this with an old Fuji Finepix- had to get a new one. Good luck- Also take it to a local camera shop- they will be more then happy to look at it.

I have had to get my hard disk formatted but since then my Canon Powershot S30 is unable to run.?

I reinstanlled the driver (TWAIN) from canons website. and all I get are error messages that the driver is not installed properly and then no camera detected. In device manager it shows camera and driver enabled and working properly. Please help.

You reinstalled your operating system?

The headache, and the heartache, will go away, if you only use a card reader. No driver of any kind is needed--because it is fully supported by the current operating systems--Windows or Mac.

Why do batteries for my Canon Powershot s30 camera fail so quickly?

How is the best way to manage rechargeable batteries so they hold the most "juice" , let you take the maximum pictures, whn fully recharged. Seems like I must be doing something wrong cause fairly new batteries freshly recharged migh only provide 20-30 pix. When new it would be 150+.

get a sony re charger

I just bought new batteries because mine started doing that. You can try a better brand. Charging them every night helped me, until I bought more.

It depends on the battery you are using. My little Samsung uses a very small Li-ion (Lithium ion) battery which will give me a full 156 shots on a single charge (less if I use the flash and even less if I keep using the screen display, or delete a lot of shots.
Canon have a battery that may address this situation. Known as model NB2-LH, and selling at just under $42, this may be the answer to your problem.
Check out the links.

Large LCD viewfinders eat batteries. It seems nice to have a big LCD monitor, but they are power hungry. You will have to do what you can to turn the thing off as soon as you don't need it any longer. Set it to shut off at the shortest possible interval after you take the picture. Set it so that it doesn't not display unless you tap the shutter button to wake it up. Even this will not go a long way towards conserving batteries.

cycle time or next picture delay problem on my canon powershot S30 3.1 megapixel camera. Is it a setting probl

This camera uses a special canon battery. I purchased a generic battery with same canon battery number. I do not know whether thats a problem

The camera is capable of taking 3 frames per second (5 at a lower quality setting). Sometimes it is a matter of the camera trying to find its focus in relatively low light situations, and that can be a problem for many compact/point and shoot cameras. You don't indicate whether you are referring to flash photos- in that case, the flash has to recycle before it can take another flash photo. If it's not a matter of a flash photo and there is adequate light and contrast for the auto focus to work, then it might be an issue with your batteries. This camera is 6, nearly 7, years old and I would consider a new camera before I bought new batteries for it.

A question about the Canon PowerShot s30.?

Mkay, so I lost the CD to my Canon PowerShot s30. Actually, I just got the camera from a friend and he didn't have the CD with him, but whatever. Is there any way I can upload the pics from my camera to my computer? My computer doesn't identify the camera and thus, it won't upload videos/pictures. ):

i see the feature of your camera and it says that it has a 16MB of memory and has a USB to transfer your picture to your computer. if its not work by USB to your computer then try the card reader.

i hope this may help you!

where can i find a guide/ manual for a canon powershot s30?

you can find one at the yard sale where you bought it...

you can find one online...

you can find one in the box that came with it...

there are some really nice Kodak's that you might be able to borrow from someone...

just some thoughts... now go make the right decision!

how do you download pics from a powershot s30??

The camera came with software and cables that will allow you to download the images. If you go this route, you will need to install the software and then connect your camera, with the card in it and the camera on, to the computer. You can also buy a card reader that works with the SD card your camera uses- then you attach the card reader with the card in it to the USB port of your computer. You can then select all images and drag them to a folder where you want to store them or select all images, copy and paste into the folder. Some card readers come with a detachable USB cord and that may fit the camera and the other end fits into the USB port of your computer. Your computer then "see" your camera if it is turned on- double click on it and the images will appear as file names. Select all and drag to a folder where you want your images to be saved.

how to use a self timer on the powershot s30?

i cant find the button to make it work

From your manual (page 58):
http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900

1. In the Rec menu, select Drive Mode.
2.Select (10) or (2), then press the MENU button. This will set either a 10 or 2 second self-timer.
3. Shoot the image. The self-timer lamp starts flashing when the shutter button is pressed all the way. The self-timer sounds and the flashing gets faster two seconds before the shutter activates.

Hope that helps.

Please help....I just bought a Canon PowerShot S30. I took about 30 pictures and then I was looking throug?

......then what? If all else fails read the manual, if its still not working as you think it should then ask here, preferably with some examples.
