Just Saying Hi Part 2!

My Camera Wont Connect to my computer. Its a Canon Powershot S330 Help please. It wont show up in My Computer.

Its a Canon Powershot S330 Help please. It wont show up in My Computer. It is connected with the right cord

When you connect the USB data cable to the computer and then to the camera, you have part of the job done. With the computer running, turn on the camera and you should see two things ... something on the cameras LCD that says something like PC or Link, and the computer should say "new hardware found" and then "new hardware installed properly". This should only happen once. Thereafter, a small window will pop up and ask you what you want windows to do each time you insert a disk or attach a device. Just choose
"Open window to view files". You will see a list of the files on the memory card and then you can drag them to either your desktop or to a folder you have made before hand on your computer.

take time to read the instruction manual. if you can't trace the manual, try this site.........type the model plus steve's digicam. all specificiation and instruction are really detailed to this site. good luck!

ok so someone gave me a camera (canon powershot s330) and now i'm trying to import pictures from the camera

into the computer but it asks for a software what do i do?

Hmmm. I can see where the computer may give you the option of installing software upon the first instance of your camera being attached to it, but what happens if you say you don't want to install any additional software.

With your computer turned on, plug in the camera with if turned off. Turn on the camera and wait until your computer "sees" it. After your computer tells you that it has been installed an it is ready to use, open up your film manager and look for a new drive. That drive is the card in your camera and just drill down the folder to find the images and then copy them over to your hard drive.

It is helpful to make a new folder on your computer that you name something that will remind you of what is in the folder.

Once you have made sure that all the image files have been copied to your new file folder, format the card using the format feature in your cameras menu.

Formatting ensures that the card is refreshed and the old image index file is replaced by a new one.
