Canon Powershot S410
Does simply buying something bring you into the 21st Century? Or do you actually have to know how to use it? Well I know my mother is definately ...

I just got a Canon powershot s410 and every time i take a picture of myself it looks really washed out!?
I've tried different lighting but . . . .am i missing something here?
Either your settings on your camera are wrong, or your flash is too close to the subject (what you're photographing). Take the camera back to factory settings (reset), or put the camera on AUTO.
Good luck!

What Do I Do? My Computer Wont Let Me Select A Program For My Canon PowerShot S410 To Upload my pics to comp.?
My Computer just wont let me select a program...
A blank screen pops up saying select a program for photos...
etc...
But I dont know what to do
Plug in the camera with a usb cord to your tower. When the box pops up, hit cancel. Go to your start menu, my computer, memory stick f, double click it, open folder labled DCIM, open folder next folder and you will see all of your pictures on your camera. Highlight the first picture in blue hold down the shift key on your computer and highlight the last picture, all your pictures should now be highlighted. Right click your mouse and select copy, go to your my pictures on the start menu of your computer and open the folder. click anywhere inside your folder once it is opened then right click your mouse and hit paste. It will then copy and paste all your pictures into your picture folder onto your computer. Good luck!
or the moment you have selected the program you wish, photos will open automatically on the same program you click.
Dont worry it will not harm you... neither your pc duh...

Help!! Canon Powershot S410!! Shutter button fell off!!?
Hello, I have a small problem with my canon powershot s410, the shutter button fell off, I was wondering if someone knew where to buy a replacement, a website, anything that could replace it, I don't have warranty. Thanks.
I checked the mackcam.com website but they charge around $50 just to repair a piece of plastic....All I need is the shutter button piece of plastic. i cant find it anywhere, i found one on ebay but its the entire thing to replace the shutter button.

Why won't my Canon Powershot s410 stay on?
It turns on and the LCD Screen lights up, but it's broken, so I can't see what the screen is saying.
Then, it beeps a few times, pauses for a few seconds, and then turns off.
What do i do? How do I fix it?

Canon PowerShot S410 Flash?
I've had my Canon camera for a few years and it has been the best. Recently, when I press the shutter button, the flash doesn't always go off and the picture isn't taken. Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening? Thanks!!
If you've been taking a lot of pictures, then perhaps the shutter is worn out.
In a more expensive camera, the shutter can be replaced. But with Canon PowerShot S410, it would be cheaper to buy a new camera than to fix the one you have now.

Canon PowerShot 'E18' error? Critical! Please help.?
My Canon PowerShot S410 camera was absolutely fine. I was looking at pictures on it and accidentaly dropped it on carpeted floor- lens was closed/ inside. I tried to turn on my camera a little after but when I try to look at pictures on it, the screen is just black and after three seconds, the camera beeps about six times and shows a "E18" symbol. If I switch it to the picture taking mode, the lens does not go out, it stays closed and the camera beeps about six times, then a vibrating sound is heard- six times- and then it beeps again, showing me a "E18" symbol at the bottom of the screen. I dont know what happened or how to fix this. I charged the batteries fully and tried to turn the camera on again but that did not work. Nothing happens. Only the beeping. I dont know what to do. Please please please help me. Is there any way I can still get my camera to work? I dont want to lose it or any of my pictures.
I would REALLY appreciate your help. Thank you!
Please do help.
You damaged the camera when you dropped it...and there's not much you can do if it's a permanent lens error (E18), other than buying a new camera.
Trying to fix it would be a waste of time and money, because repairs (if at all possible) will cost more than the price of a new camera.
Besides, your 3.2MP camera is quite old now and was most likely cheap to buy...so is not worth getting fixed. Canon have some very good models available worth considering.
You don't need to use your camera to transfer images to your computer. Instead, you can use an SD (or multi) card reader. You just insert your memory card into it and plug both into the USB port of your computer. It will show up as a removable drive (have a look in My Computer). And then you can easily copy & paste (or drag & drop) all images to your computer's hard drive. Simple.
If you buy a new camera, you can use the same SD card (if the camera uses SD)...but you will need to format it first (in the camera's menu).
Which is better? Digital Camera with double AA batteries or the one that uses Battery packs?
I currently have two canon powershot s410 and sd600 that uses square battery pack and I use a charger to charge them back up. I was wondering whether regular double AA batteries are better compared to the digital cameras that uses battery packs. Sorry for the wordy ness.
double AA:
+ cheaper replacements
+ availability
+ can be use on other devices (but i don't recommend this)
- big and heavy
- longer time charging
lithium pack:
+ small and light
+ store more power
+ longer battery life
+ faster charging
- expensive
- less compability
