With the Kodak EasyShare C743 is it a good idea to blow a picture up to 16x20 " ?

I have a Kodak EasyShare C743 and want to blow a picture that I took up to 16x20 ". It is 0.08 MP

How will it come out ?

If you actually meant 8 Megapixels, it should blow up just fine. If you actually meant .08 Megapixels, ditch it and get a new camera. It's worthless.

Do you mean 8 MP? If so, and you took the photo at the highest resolution, it should work fine. I've blown up 3.5 mp photos that size and they've been great. Kodak says that camera is 7.1 mp. and you can print up to 20x30 cm.

You should get a fairly decent print at that size. Maybe not a full 300DPI, but decent enough.

It all depends.

When most people think about making enlargement, they think pixels (more the better, right?).

Well here's a little secret, at approximately 5 megapixel, the number of pixel become kind of moot. If you were to increase the pixel count by 2 times (say 5 to 10 mega pixel), the actual pixel count only increase in each dimension by 41% (1.41 x 1.41 === >>>> 2.0).

I have owned and operated Canon 10D, Nikon D70, Fuji S2 pro (all 6 MP) and I've regularly made enlargements to 20x30 incles (wedding stuff mostly). But here's another secret, the CCD size on these digital SLR (pro) cameras are about 2.5 to 4 times larger than P&S cameras. The size of the CCD is largely responsible for digital NOISE. Smaller the ccd more digital noise you'll get. So without noise (or very low noise, the enlarge picture looks smooth and sharp).

So the FINALY secret is that it isn't so much the CCD pixel count, but how you expose your CCD. If you underexpose CCD (or use high ISO setting) on your P&S camera, you will get more noise, and the noise will make you image LOOK low resolution.

So make sure that you use the lowest ISO setting, and shoot wiht plenty of light (like outdoors) if you intend to enlarge. And remember - don't forget to experiment. That's the fun part of digital camera.

Good Luck.

How do you fix a lense error for kodak easyshare C743?

When i attempt to turn it on it says I have lense error, then shuts itself off.

Try to use a fully charge or fresh brand new batteries and check if the camera works. If you will get that same lens error your camera needs serviced.

I have a Kodak EasyShare C743. How can I get those videos onto my computer?

I'm making a fake commercial for my civics class. I plugged my camera into my computer, and it comes up in my pictures folder, but when I try to open it on other places like windows movie maker or something, it doesn't show up. Do I need to download a certain software? I need these videos on by tonight so I can make the commercial....it's due tomorrow. All answers would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Just use your file manager to drag and drop your video files from your cameras memory card to the computer

Is the Kodak EasyShare C743 Digicam Rechargeable?

Can the camera be recharged by using an adapter or would I need rechargeable batteries to use it?

You should READ the user manual, which will tell you.

But anyway...your camera uses AA size batteries. You can buy rechargeable NiMH batteries (approx 2500mAh), plus charger to power the camera.
Or you can buy non rechargeable Lithium batteries...or you can buy the Optional Kodak Easyshare Dock and rechargeable battery, which will charge the camera when it is placed on the dock.
Or you can buy an AC adapter to power the camera from the mains electricity, but you can only take the camera as far as the length of the power cord.

I tried replaceing my "Kodak EasyShare C743" Digital Camera with numerous AA Batteries nothing seems to work?

I mean what type of AA Batteries should I use?? because I'm not sure if it's the battery or the Camera that's not working because when i last used it, it turned on and turned off.

Normal alkaline batteries just don't do it for digital cameras because of the high instantaneous current required to run a digital camera. (This includes all batteries such as "Duracell" and "Super Heavy Duty" etc) These types of batteries will appear to the camera to be flat even when they aren't because they just don't have the capacity to give the camera what it wants.

Some places still sell rechargeable Nickel Cadmium Batteries (NiCd), and these batteries cannot cut it for digital cameras. There are also rechargeable alkaline batteries and these aren't great either.

The only type of rechargeable to get is Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), and the higher capacity the better. This capacity is typically rated in milliamp hours. A medium capacity battery for a camera will have say 1600 MAH whereas a high capacity battery will have more than 2000 MAH. Some even go as high as 2600 MAH. Get the highest that you can.

One downside is that NiMH batteries go flat in the camera if you do not use them. In a camera that uses 2 batteries, this can happen in as little as a week.

My advice is get a couple of sets of high capacity NiMH rechargeable batteries (2000 MAH or higher) and use these as much as possible. Also however buy one or two sets of Lithium batteries (non rechargeable) these last a long time but are wickedly expensive. Have one set of lithiums for backup in case you need the shot but the rechargeables are all flat. Soon as you can put freshly recharged batteries in and again keep the lithiums in reserve. Unused lithium batteries will last for years.

Hope this helps.

What's the ave. battery life of a Kodak Easyshare c743?

Mine could only take about 8 pics and then it was dead. However, I used the included Kodak brand AA batteries. Is this a normal lifetime for digital camera batteries? Any hints/suggestions?

You could try the Energizer NI-MH Charger and batteries. The batteries are labeled 2200 mAH. These batteries should give you about 4 times the battery life of regular AA batteries.

Kodak Easyshare C743 6.1 with dock....?

Hi, I'm thinking about getting the Kodak Easyshare C743 6.1 megapixels with printer dock. Anyone have this and, if so, is it any good? I'd be using this mainly for just normal out-and-about pictures of friends and family. Also, is the dock self-contained, or do I need to have a computer to use it?

Thanks!

Hi
I do not have this camera. The review for this camera doesnt sound too promising. Check this website out.

I hope this helps.

Also you dont need a computer if you purchase a dock. You can just print off the dock as a stand alone.
