How is the Kodak Easyshare C875 digital camera so cheap?
I've seen digital cameras with the exact same features as teh Kodak Easyshare C875 camera (8 megapixels, mpeg4 recording, 5x zoom) but they are almost $300, wheras the Kodak Easyshare C875 is under $200. Please explain why this is. Thanks!
does it have optical zoom? this is an important feature that would up the price because the digital 5x zoom is cheaper......look at product reviews and do a google search on this model to see if it has any problems
What digital cameras are similar to the Kodak Easyshare C875?
Just to let you know the Kodak Easyshare C875 has:
8 megapixels
Can record video with sound
5x optical zoom
Under $200
Thanks!
Consider looking at a Canon Powershot A630, which is in the same price range as the Kodak, but adds an optical viewfinder and also focuses as close as 1 cm.

I have a Kodak EasyShare C875 camera that has the wrong date on my pictures. Can I change the date?
When I transferred the pictures to my computer I noticed that they all had the wrong date. Is there a way that I can change the date to the correct one?
Or even take the date completely off the pictures?
Kodak EasyShare C875 camera flash not working?
Hello. I have a Kodak EasyShare C875 camera and the flash is not working. I have been through all the settings and have had it set on the flash option but it still does not work. What can i do so it can work again ?
Thankyou.
I have the exact same problem. Please let me know if you get an answer. I even called Kodak and they want something like $75 to repair it. My camera is basically brand new and I can't use the flash. It sucks.
I need to buy a digital camera. which is better Canon Powershot A630 or Kodak Easyshare C875. Any info helps!
I want to take nice pictures but Im not into it hardcore. I have come down to choosing between the Kodak Easyshare C875 and the Canon powershot A630. Any information that can help me choose either one of these would be great, or if someone has any advice on me getting another digital camera in the price range of 175-275 would be helpful as well. Thanks!
You have done your homework, because you have found two very comparable and excellent cameras. To me, the tiebreaker would be the lack of an optical viewfinder on the Kodak. I would buy the Canon. Here's my speech on that topic:
I lament the passing of the optical viewfinder and I would choose almost any camera with an optical viewfinder over one that only has an LCD viewfinder. Why?
1. You never have the option of turning off the LCD and these things eat batteries for lunch and spit them out. Why do away with the option of a viewfinder that has zero electrical drain?
2. It can be difficult to see the image on an LCD in bright sunlight, even if they are "new and improved."
3. You have to hold an LCD viewer out at some distance in front of your face. This is more conspicuous than I prefer to be all the time.
4. The need to hold a camera at arms length will introduce some shake. I like the idea of stabilizing a camera against my face when I am taking a picture. This is especially important with a longer zoom lens. No wonder "image stablization" or "vibration reduction" is necessary with these cameras. Not that there's anything WRONG with IS or VR, but it is really a requirement with LCD viewfinders and telephoto lenses.
5. Using the LCD to view photos after you've taken them slows down the camera quite a bit. You can't shut of the LCD monitor and still take pictures if you don't have an optical viewfinder.
Anyway, I've owned a Canon powershot for 3 years now, I had to have the lenses covers repaired, (under warranty) I can tell you that there customer service is exceptional.
As far as picture quality, every picture I've taken has been crystal clear, with brilliant colors.
I'd recommend the canon any day.
How do I fix the flash on my kodak easyshare C875 camera?
my flas stopped working after about 5 months. I have tried everything and i know the flash is turned on. Please help me.
Hi, make sure you turned your flash on. That could always be the problem. Have you dropped your camera recently?
Anyway, good luck and I hope you get your camera fixed.
How many minutes of video can the Kodak Easyshare C875 digital camera record with a 1 GB memory card?
Just to let you guys know, the video is in the mpeg 4 format and the camera has 8 megapixels. Thanks!
I can't find exactly how many minutes you will get on a 1GB card...because no review site or even Kodak mention it. But I can tell you that the 6MP, Kodak C663 also shoots mpeg 4 video and is able to shoot up to 40 mins per 1GB (so, the C875 could be very similar)
Video clips (with the C875) can be shot and stored as VGA (640-by-480) at 30 frames per second up to 80 minutes in length.
I am guessing that is done when using a 2GB card.
How do I hook a Kodak Easyshare C875 to a emachine computer?
I have a black cord with a yellow and white jack at the end the black piece I put in the camera but wheres the jacks go?
You should have a USB cable. The jacks you are talking about are to be used on a tv set so you can view pictures and video taken by the camera. All kodak cameras should have came with a cd and usb cable and you load the software on the computer or just go to your computer and it should show that you have connected the camera. And thats it
How can I access videos from my Kodak EasyShare c875 without using the software that came with the camera?
I've shot videos using my camera. I believe the videos are .wma because they can only be played with Quicktime. I want to access the video without going through the stupid software so I can e-mail it. The problem is that the soft ware wants me to go through the Kodak website to e-mail it, and I don't want to! I can't access the camera through windows explorer when it's connected to the USB drive, and I can't find the individual pics and videos in Program files. I would have to buy a package from Quicktime to save the files, and the only way I can put it on my desktop is by creating a short cut that takes me back to the Kodak software. I'm finding that this Kodak software is very dominating; it's full of advertisements to make money. It's a good camera, but the software sucks. In other words, I want to access my videos without the Kodak software so I can e-mail and I would also like to convert it to play on windows media player.
Hi!
I have a Kodak as well and it's caused me nightmares.
I got around my problems this way
1. Uninstalled the Kodak software - Just like you, it took over my system! It's always trying to connect to the internet, wanting me to upload pictures to their service and spend money with them. I have a very low opinion of it and sometimes it wouldn't work either for me.
2. I then had to find a way to get pitures on and off the camera. I ended up with a card reader. There are loads on eBay, but two new ones I bought wouldn't work with a HP computer (but did with Dell). In the end, I bought a card reader from a very respected store, cost a little more, but it worked first time!
3. Now I could access my files on the card happily, I found Kodak save your movies in the ".mov" format. This is used only by Apple's Quicktime and cannot be read by Windows for example...
There is a free QuickTime viewer available from Apple. I wantred to burn them onto DVDs for family, but nothing would do that, unless I paid out a LOT of money for software.
Eventually I found a pretty good (freeware) program that would do it, called "DVDFlick". I think it will also convert to other fomas as well if you like?
I hope this helps a little?!
can i put any brand type double AA batteries into a kodak easyshare C875?
I need to use the camera for work....i dont kno how to charge it....so can i buy like panasonic or duracell batteries?
You can use any kind of AA batteries, but keep in mind that alkaline batteries will usually not give you more than about 100 pictures per set and that can get expensive.
I would get a set of Sanyo eneloops which are rechargable, but last up to a year on the shelf if you don't use the camera regularly. They only cost $12 for a set of 4. A charger will cost you $10 to $20, so you will easily make back all your costs with only a few recharges. You can find eneloops at Circuit City or Ritz Camera.
