Kodak EasyShare M1063 Review

Why is the Kodak EasyShare M1063 Digital Camera cheaper on price than other cameras of the same comparison?
Does this camera use a recargeable lithion battery or normal batteries?
I have one and they take amazing photos especially for the price.
Best money I ever spent.
They took amazing pics for landscape like outside in the snow or in a well lit summer sky.
If mine broke, Id buy the same one.
Kodak Easyshare M1063 Digital Camera?
hi, i am wondering... is the Kodak Easyshare M1063 worth it to buy?
like do all your pictures come out with good quality?
when did it come out?
also, it says that the battery it uses is a Li-Ion battery.
how long does that last if it is fully charged?
and one more thing... will a 1 GB SD memory card be compatible with this camera?
thank you so much!
It came out in April 2008. No-one's going to be getting too excited about this camera. It looks expensive for what it is. For the price you might expect image stabilization, but you don't get it.
It can take good pictures, but as with all cameras that really depends on the person taking the pictures. It can take a 1GB SD. It can also take SDHC, so you could use a 4GB SDHC card. Cards are relatively cheap now, so having existing cards doesn't really matter much.
The Li-ion battery lasts quite well but isn't a deal maker for me. I much prefer NiMH AA batteries. When your Li-ion loses it's edge it's big money to replace. NiHM batteries - like Sanyo Eneloop - have good capacity and are much cheaper if you have to replace them.
For a camera that packs in a lot of value for similar money, have a look at the Canon Powershot A590IS. It has a 4x zoom, image stabilisation and an optical viewfinder. It also lets you take control manually if you want to, with M, S and A modes. Just a much better camera, though admittedly not slim. The Kodak beats it there.
If the size is really important to you, have a look at the is review...

The Fujifilm fz20fd will be a similar price to the Kodak M1063, if not cheaper, and it does pretty well here. You can also see how it gets on in comparison to that Canon I suggested.
Which camera should i get Kodak EasyShare M1063 Digital Camera/Kodak EasyShare M103 Digital Camera?
Unless it has the Schneider formula glass I advise against getting a Kodak.
Every Kodak digital I ever owned had a strange color cast to the image but the sharp Schneider lens more than made up for the hassle of post processing.
kodak easyshare m1063 memory card compatibility?
im thinking about buying this camera and i used to have a Polaroid but the screen got cracked so i want to get a new one.
I have a lexar SD 1GB memory card
would this work with the kodak that i want to get?
Which camera should I get - Kodak EasyShare M1063 or Canon PowerShot A470?
I'm trying to decide between the Kodak EasyShare M1063: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=12883&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=16055 ($150)
and the Canon PowerShot A470: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830120261 ($90)
I've never bought or owned a digital camera before so I have no idea what to look for. I'm just looking for a camera to take pictures of family/friends/pets or whatever, not really for serious photography, but I'd still like the quality to be good. I'd be willing to spend the extra 60 bucks for the Kodak if there was that much of a difference in quality. I'd also prefer a camera that's smaller/slimmer in size but that's not my biggest priority.
thanks!
Personally, I would go for the Canon. They take much clearer pictures and are most definitely worth the money spent. And it's cheaper than the Kodak, that's a definite plus!
However, if you're a digital camera virgin, then a Kodak would probably be easier to use. I work in a Photo Centre and I usually recommend Kpdak's to first-time users. However, the Canons have more fun features that you could learn to use with time.
I'm kind of biased though, since I own a Canon PowerShot myself and I absolutely love it! The one thing to keep in mind when buying a camera though is to keep an eye on the megapixel of the camera. Most are around 7-9MP these days, which is great. The MP is just the resolution of the image, so the lower the MP, the grainier the picture is, especially if you're blowing it up to an 8x10 or bigger.
Hope I was of some help! :)
Kodaks are very easy to learn how to use- great for a first camera.
Although they aren't as good as a Cannon, they are great cameras.
My first digital cam was Kodak- it helped a lot with learning how to use other cameras.. basic point and shoot.
Cannons are very clear, good cameras. They take clearer pictures than the Kodak, but Kodaks are a bit easier to use.....
The Cannon is great for the price so I would probably get that, but if you aren't very tech savvy then get the Kodak....
(but I would get the Cannon)

Just saw this camera at Best Buy and think it is a great camera and a best buy. It has an optical viewfinder, image stabilizer, auto focus, and uses NiMH rechargeable batteries. Read as much of the following as you can for other information and help with choosing a camera.
Canon A590IS $129.99 at Staples yesterday.

There is no one particular place to get great buys, but you may see something above that really helps you find the best buy. Click on the link in the information above for an example then search for your camera of choice at the upper left. Camera prices at this link change often.
While most of the cameras out there are really good, I would choose Canon over Nikon because it seems like more camera for the money. Some would say Canon withholds their best technology for high end cameras and Nikon implements their best at all levels. Before you decide, read all the text and links in the information below because it will help you know what to look for in a camera.
There are so many cameras out there it is difficult to say which is best, but digital is definitely the way to go. The second source link will be very helpful as it list most of the cameras out there with prices. The following information should help you know what to look for in a camera.
What gives a camera its picture quality?
The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.
Lots of great camera tips in these two links. http://www.danscamera.com/Learning/going_digital/#resolution ...

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.
My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7 x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.
Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own, but don't believe everything you hear. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual. Just learned that my camera has red-eye prevention and correction. It also has adaptive lighting. You may be able to view owners manuals at this link, but will need to Login. http://www.retrevo.com/s/digital+camera ...
The source links will show most of the cameras out there with prices and help make digital cameras work better with complete instructions on cleaning camera and battery electrical contacts.

I have a Kodak EasyShare M1063. I had a memory card in there, and now I can't get it out...?
I've pushed it and it pops out, but I can't pull it out.
if you are asking how to get it out then just push on it... it should pop out, if you are asking... well i don't know what else you could be asking
Does the Kodak EasyShare M1063 have video capabillities?
can u take vids with it
yes
There are 3 buttons...the three main buttons, on top of the lens, the middle one is for video capturing.
I hope thats what you mean and hope it helps.
what's better " Kodak Easyshare M1033 or M1063"?
Which camera is better Kodak M1033 or M1063
Neither, you'd be much better off with either Canon or Nikon.
Where can I get my camera repaired, cheaply?
I just got a camera for Christmas, a Kodak EasyShare M1063. I was filming and dropped it on the lens. Now it won't turn on all the way. Unfortunately, I didn't buy an extended warranty and accidents aren't covered under the one it came with. My family is really down economically and all I got for xmas was this camera. It was a big buy for my mom and I need to get it repaired as cheaply as possible.
Thanks!
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Kodak M1063 camera maintenance?
For Christmas, my mom got me a Kodak Easyshare M1063 digital camera. Pics are below. ^_^

Well, when I got the camera, I noticed that the screen on the back had bubbles in it. I then realized that there was one of those protective cover things on it, which I peeled off. (I really can't stand those things, I've no clue why.)
But, when I peeled it off, it left some residue on my screen. I've tried the "spit clean" (I don't really care if you think it's gross, that's how I clean things without chemicals, or when I'm too lazy to go to the faucet. xD)
But the spit cleaning only did a minimal job cleaning, and I was wondering if I could use Windex on my screen, or if that would ruin it?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Merry Christmas :)
and Happy... Hanukkah? (Lol, I don't mean to offend by not spelling it right, but I seriously have no idea at all how to spell it.)
you should not have residue from the protective cover
it must be something else
I would only use clear water
I heard you can use a little vasoline
you decide
