Hands-On - Kodak EasyShare M853 Digital Camera

Unboxing and a brief overview of the external features on a Kodak EasyShare M853 Digital Camera. More camera news, reviews, rumors, and opinions ...

where can you buy a kodak easyshare m853 usb charging cable?

I am buying one that someone else owns and it doesn't have the charging usb cable. Please help!

Buy it from Kodak or Online. Kodak will charge you good (maybe $40 + shipping) or get it online. I like a place called dealextreme, they're good and chap, but it'll take up to 4 weeks to ship to you (despite what they say)

Should be this one, but I can't guarantee anything.

And, umm with all due respect, do you really want that camera that badly? I sell those (or used to) and the defective rate was 50%. That means out of every two cameras sold, one will come back defective or warranty replacement. I'm sort of iffy with that.

Oh btw, PhotoAce. With all due respect, that model doesn't have a charger. Yes you heard me right. It charges off a PC like the iPod. You'd probably agree with me, worst idea ever. Defeats the purpose of a camera. So dumb I've instructed my staff to avoid selling it and it's been pulled from my shelves.

i would look either on ebay or shopzilla.com. those are the best places i would look.

You might be able to find one on ebay for a few bucks.

future shop!

No cameras have charging USB cables at least not the good P&S cameras ... unless your camera as a charging cradle, your batteries have to come out of the camera and placed in the charger that came with your camera ... if your camera uses AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, then you will have to buy the charger and batteries.

try ebay

please search here. This is the best place.

About how much would it cost to fix my Kodak EasyShare M853?

It got dropped on macadam & there are now cracks in the screen & the mega pixels are turning black around the cracks. About how much would it cost to get it fixed & where in Pennsylvania could I get it fixed? I live about 30mins from Allentown so if you could give places around there, that would be great.

It would cost more than the camera itself or at least a new one today.

Dropping and drowning are the leading killers of digital cameras. Your EasyShare M853 is the latest statistic. Now you know why Kodak included that strap with the camera - to keep it attached to you and avoid dropping it.

Use it as a paperweight and begin shopping for your new camera. Use the wrist or neck strap that comes with your new camera.

I just bought a Kodak EasyShare M853 digital camera. I CANNOT for the life of me open the battery door, help!

The user guide suggests the door swings open away from the camera. In trying to do this, I flipped off a cover piece to the battery door, but still didn't open the door. Anybody own this camera?

you have to press down on the door as you open it

When all else fails... READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual for your camera. It was not packed in the box as filler material - its there so you can learn to use your camera.

Just don't force it, these little things do break very easily when forced in the wrong direction, and then you'll feel really bad!

How to i charge my kodak easyshare camera m853 without the cord?

I lost the cord and my camera won't even turn on it's so low on battery. I need to charge it but can't find another way. Is there another way to charge it?

Thanks,
Kim

Please help lens error on Kodak easyshare M853 camera?

i accidentally forced the lens not to fully open and now i can not retract it back to normal. is there a way i can fix it, put it back to normal without having to get professional help?

A lens error usually means a trip to the camera urgent care shop.

Forcing anything on a camera, digital or not usually costs a lot of money to repair.

You may be able to "reset" the camera. That information can be usually be found in your owners manual or by calling Kodak's help line.

maybe try taking the battery out overnight! the camera is got a memory! it remembers everything, such as the lens position and stuff! and by taking the battery out resets everything!

Try taking a pen or something small and when you try to turn it on stick it into the corner to help the flaps open. If they does work take it to a near by camera shop and they may do it for free.

Hope it helps!

How can I upload videos from a M853 Kodak EasyShare Camera?

I've tried uploading them, I've even asked Kodak through email. They just have automated responses so I didn't get any info. I read the instruction manual, many times over. I still can't find out. And if I CAN'T upload them, why would there be a camera that records videos but doesn't upload them?

The video is just files on your memory card. Either plug the camcorder in via USB or put the card in a card reader - you can then transfer them with Windows Explorer

i have an easyshare m853 and it's taking pink pictures and ones w/lines thru them. any suggestions?

i bought it less than 6 months ago and i've also lost the receipt....not that they would exchange it after 6 months anyways. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your CCD chip may have gotten moisture or static in it. If its under warranty, you might want to get it fixed or return to the store for another one. Good luck~

Which camera is better? Kodak Easyshare M853 8.2 MP Digital Camera or Samsung L830 8.1 MP Digital Camera?

Okay, I've done my research, and I've decided that it's between 2 really good cameras, The Kodak Easyshare M853 8.2 MP Digital Camera or the Samsung L830 8.1 MP Digital Camera.
