My kodak easyshare M883 randomly turns off when i turn it on, but then it turns on again. And when i put it on video the screen turns black, but its still on. Whats wrong with it? What can I do?

Try this.

Take the batteries out for 10 minutes. Push and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then put fully charged batteries back on the camera. If this works you will know by having to reset the time/date. If it doesnt fix the problem, you will need to get it repaired if its under warranty or just buy a new one if not. Or you can just live with it until it really dies. The cost of the repair probably is more than a new camera. Make sure that you have good strong batteries.

The pamplet does not explain. It charges using the USB/A/V adapter . and do I have to shut off any programs I have running in order for it to charge?

Kodak recommends letting it charge overnight with the USB/AC adapter - which means you can leave programs running, but you have to turn off standby, sleep and hibernation modes on your computer:

Why are the pictures on my Kodak easyshare m883 grainy?

Its 8.0 megapixels. I thought the more mega pixels there are the more better it is? I dont know to much about cameras,obviously. What do i need to know in a nutshell? THANK you guys in advance. I really need some answers. Much appreciated

When you press MENU look for the STAR icon - it usually has the MP numbers. If you can go higher, like if it's on 5.3 go to 7.2 or 8.1. Then make sure you have it your ISO on 200 or 100 (you can scroll on your MENU after you do the STAR icon to look for ISO). I hope this help.

go to "upload" and on the right-hand side sorta at the middle of the pg it will have a link about multi-video uploader click it and try it, it works for me.

Kodak EasyShare M883 problem?

I just got a new camera. It's the Kodak EasyShare M883. The problem is that I can't seem to transfer pictures from the camera to my Macbook Pro. The camera won't even show up in the sources menu of iphoto or the Kodak program. Also the battery doesn't seem to be charging when I connect it to my laptop. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

A couple of things...

Do you have the most recent Kodak Easyshare software for the Mac OS? Check out link 1 and make sure you have the most recent version for your operating system. Sometimes the software that comes bundled with the camera is not the most recent version released.

Also, see link 2 for advice from Kodak on USB charging. You have to disable hibernation/sleep mode on your computer. I also would recommend that you not use the USB port to charge cameras or most electronics for that matter. USB voltages are barely enough to do something like charge a battery, and it has been shown that USB can actually negatively affect the battery's capability to maintain a charge because a lot of that charge is being used solely to maintain the power connection between peripheral and computer.

Kodak EasyShare M883 not charging?

I just bought a Kodak EasyShare M883 and I tried charging it through my computer (USB plug) and did everything by the book so I know it's correct; however, the charging light on the light is not on or flashing, but the display button on the back is flashing. Does that mean it's charging?
I also bought a USB adapter charger to plug into the outlet but it does nothing when I plug it in there.

Can someone please help? Is my camera charging or not?

First of all, the charging light must be on while charging. The light goes out when fully charged. If you suspect that the camera is not charged then read on. According to your manual, your camera requires a USB cable with a USB/AV adapter. You can not plug the USB cable directly into the camera. Also, have you tried a standard AC adapter that plugs into the side of the camera? This can be seen on page 2 of the manual. Kodak easyshare M883 charging problems?

my new kodak m883 camera's battery charging light won't light up when i insert my usb into the computer. it states in the manual that it is charging when it lights up.

I think you are mistaken about this. That camera should come with a charger that is used to charge the battery. Connecting to the computer with the USB cable is for uploading photos. Reread carefully, and use the charger for battery charging.

Like little tick tick noises, almost like a shutter. All sound modes are off but I still get it.

Help?

Does it film correctly?

the three possibilities:

is it a mechanical noise, and the only mechanics will be in the lens. Does it focus and zoom correctly (and is the noise related to focus and zoom?

is it electrical noise - a speaker: you say you have disabled all sounds, but have you checked any specific settings for film and/or still shots?

It could be related to the flash charging up. if so, then this could be due to noisy electrical components. This would be nothing to worry about.

Take it to a camera shop and ask if you want to be sure
