uploading pictures from a kodak easyshare v1003?

for some reason my kodak easyshare v1003 won't turn on when it's connected to my computer but as soon as you unplug it, it works perfectly fine. is there anyway to get the picture off the camera using only the usb cord that was provided? or any way to make my computer recognize the device?

Kodak will tell you if you can do that.

Look at the chart & find your camera on the list.

I pressed 'transfer all' by mistake when transfering pictures from my camera to my PC & thus transferred my videos too. Now I cant watch them on my PC; Ive tried everything & I keep getting told the files not supported. Ive looked up how to transfer the videos back onto the camera but cant find anything on how to do this. Can anyone help? Id hate if Ive lost them forever!

if its like my kodak its in something called quicktime, try downloading it off the internet its usually free. if your camera has a sd card get yourself a sd card reader for your pc and just drag and drop them back onto your card n pop it into the camera.

I dropped it and now I can turn it on, but the screen just displays a criss cross. Jessops told me it would cost 3 figures to repair.

unfortunatley there is no cost effective way to get a point and shoot camera repaired, as the camera is only around the $150 you are better off to get a new one

Kodak EasyShare V1003, won't turn on, lens stuck open and extended, one button only gets the on screen then shuts off. I tried charging it, taking out the batteries, now what should I do?

I have had the same problem. It was caused by low batteries or bad connections between the camera and the batteries.

Most cameras will reset or restore to original settings if batteries are removed for at least one minute.

Clean, charge, and insert batteries again then restart the camera. Remove extra memory to eliminate this as a possible camera problem.

The secret to making digital cameras work better is having good electrical contacts between the batteries and the camera.

Electrical contacts in the camera and on the batteries must be cleaned properly. Digital cameras are high drain devices. Batteries may have a full charge, but will be viewed by the camera as low if electrical contacts are not really good.

I think you will be more satisfied with a Canon PowerShot A430/A460. Then the Kodak, the kodak is a good camera, but there are much better camera's out there

Which one of these camera should I get and why?

Go with the cannon for 2 reasons { 1 } better pictures with faster recovery time { 2 } more flexibility and durability . I know people who have had both Kodaks tend to be slower and not so good in the resolution and are power hogs { they go through batteries faster } and the easy share program isn't if you get a HP all in one printer { thats what I use and I have used the " easy share " program } for 50 to 80 dollars the software that comes with it does far more . good luck and have fun .

That was a hard to word question. i just plugged in the camera to my computer. and a few random picture that i thought i deletedd show up. they are very embarassing picture of me making faces. but i don't know how to delete them. like i'm still on the importing part.

Your camera has internal memory plus SD card. The photos may be on the internal memory -- take the SD card out and see if thats where the photos are.

If all else fails -- Format!

Formatting internal memory or an SD or MMC card deletes all (including protected) pictures/videos. (Formatting internal memory also deletes email addresses, album names, and favorites. To restore them, see EasyShare software Help.)

Should I get my Kodak EasyShare V1003 fixed or just buy a new camera??

I dropped my camera while the lens was fully extended. Now it won't focus or fully close. I either need to get it fixed or buy a new camera. Is it worth getting fixed?? Any ideas on how much it will cost to get fixed?? And where should I take it to get fixed?? Thanks!!!

Buy a new one. Buy a good one(Canon, Nikon or Sony). Don't drop it.

So I bought the kodak easyshare v1003, and the pictures look great on the camera..so how come when I upload to the computer they look like crap? I'm kind of really pissed. So i'm never going to be able to tell if I have the settings right on the camera if that isn't how they are going to show up on the computer?
the pictures on the computer show up darker and not as clear as they were on the camera.
