Why you should NEVER use this thing for recording video! Just dont!!

How can I burn video from my Kodak EasyShare Z612?

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z612 and love the quality and ease of use. However, I have video that I took at an NFL game last year and some of my new nephew and my son catching the ball at his first varsity scrimmage last night. I can't seem to figure out how to change the type of file to burn it to a dvd to watch on the tv. I have the ability to watch it through the camera and patch cords but want to burn it to send to relatives.

Help!! Help from Kodak is crap and doesn't tell you anything...

What format does the camera create, i.e. what is the file extension?
For watching it from a DVD on a TV, you possibly need it to be an avi format, although newer DVD players can handle other formats, too.
Find out what formats your DVD player can cope with, then there are converter programs around that change file format from one to the other, but your disk burning software (e.g. Nero, Roxio, etc) might do it, too.

Can you buy an infrared filter for a kodak easyshare Z612?

I am going to be buying a new camera and I am looking at a kodak Z612 and I would like to buy an infrared filter as well, and I was wondering if I would be able to buy one for this camera or do they only come for a certain type of camera or what?

You can't put a screw-in filter on your lens, but Cokin does make a holder that attaches to the bottom of the camera, and you can slip a filter in the front part. It's called a shoe holder. You can see it on Cokin's website: http://www.cokin.com/ico1-p1.html I recommend buying from The Filter Connection. That's where I bought my Cokin holder and filter: http://www.2filter.com/prices/products/cokin.html

First of all the Z612 is a great camera I bought one a few months ago and for the price it is great. I am looking into getting some lenses for mine right now. you do need to buy and adapter for it it screws on and then you can attach any 55mm lens

Kodak EasyShare Z612 repair manual?

Well, we just bought a nice Kodak Z612 digital camera in May of this year. We dropped it not long ago and now the lens does not retract back into the camera and it will not turn on.

Since we dropped it, the warranty is void. It would cost $145 +tax to get the thing fixed!! Ridiculous!

I would like to have a repair manual so that I can repair it myself. I am very good with electronics repair, so I am confident that I can fix it if I had a manual to reference.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately, there are no repair manuals for digital cameras. Even if you were able to point out the problem, you'd still need to get the part from Kodak, which I don't think is possible unless you are a camera repair shop.

You can add a little more to the repair cost and buy a new one of these, or even a better one.

Good luck

my kodak easyshare z612 dig. camera?

doesn't snap the picture fast enough. I have small children and they don't like to stand still. I usually have one image when I press the shutter but what comes up on the screen after is different because the camera didn't react fast enough. I understand ISO and shutter speed somewhat, but the older Kodak easyshare camera I had took the pic the second you pressed the button. HELP!!!

your setting is off somewhere is it set for daylight Ect mine is slow on low light setting are you using flash if not it will be slower?

PanasonicLumixFZ8 - FujiFinePix S700 - Kodak Easyshare Z612?

I'm considering the above as I want a view finder. Not certain if S700 has an image stabiliser as I believe that will be necessary on telphoto. I do not want to pay more than the above, infact the DMCFZ8 is a bit move than I originally intended to pay. The snaps are likely to be of people who are not posing for their pics.

I have a kodak a couple steps below the one you are thinking of buying and love it. I don't like the easy share software and have heard others say the same thing, so I don't use the software. Mine is only 5MP but my pics are so good I have them in an exhibition. The manual settings are easy to navigate and the auto setting and presets are fantastic too. The 80 ISO setting comes in handy when there is a lot of bright outdoor light. I really do love it. I am on the verge of moving to SLR but this little camera was the best first step I ever took in photography and well worth the price.

Kodak EasyShare Z612, how can I convert .mov format into .mpeg or anything readable by WMM?

Do not mention converters because I have used them all from .mov to .avi to .mpeg, there is a certain codec that we need to download to get the videos viewed on windows media player and I need to know what it is?

.mov requires the Quicktime codec, download Quicktime from apple.com or Quicktime Alternative from <http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm>
