Kodak EasyShare z740

Nice lil digital camera that we have on Ebay right now

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z740 digital camera that doesn't work does anyone know how I can try to fix it!?

When I turn it on it the Kodak EasyShare screen comes on then the camera makes a loud buzzing noise and it shuts off. I've also put in new batteries and I always get the same result!
It is 5.0 megapixles and has a 10X optical zoom.

Did you drop it??

I'm guessing its beyond repair, unless you're a technical genious. If the lens comes out, then I'm not sure what the buzzing is, but if the lens doesn't come out, then its probably the motor that moves the lens in and out that buzzes.

I own one and ive never had any problems with it so sorry I cant be any further help.

Try checking once again if the batteries are the problem. Here's how you can contact a batteries professional:

They're pretty experienced with batteries and electronics so they can help you out.

What is the best rechargeable battery I can use in my Kodak EasyShare Z740 camera?

And do they only charge so many times before you need to buy new ones?

I would recommend Duracell NiMH (2650 mAh) AA batteries.

How do you take long exposure photos on the Kodak EasyShare Z740?

I would like to figure out how to take some long exposure photos. I'm an art student and a classmate and I have a project in which pong exposure photos would help us.

well i wouldnt recommend a kodak fur shure..

i use a nikon d80 and to get great long exposures in daylight i use a very strong neutral density filter..known as an ND or NDx1000.

set up camera on tripod
set aperateure to F18-F22
camera is set to fully manual btw..
set the shutter to bulb and fiddle about with the times i do mine for arround 30sec to 10min.

How do you put on a batterycover on a Kodak Easyshare z740 camera?

first put the battery in, they you need to press battery cover a bit and slide the battery cover, over the battery...enjoy

Kodak EasyShare Z740, Professional?

I own a Kodak EasyShare Z740 and was wondering how professional of a camera it really is. I'm planning on getting a canon or nikon this December, but I'm wondering if, for now, it will take professional looking pictures (not casual pictures of friends and family). I'm planning on majoring in photography and need to keep working on my portfolio.
Any reviews? Tips about settings?
Much appreciated.

Camera isn't taking pictures. You are. If you are good enough then you can capture good pictures even with Kodak EasyShare Z740.

Many "pros" carry point & shoot cameras with them. A lot of photos used in publication have been taken with point & shoot instead of 35mm or DSLR. Reason being a photographer does not always have his DSLR camera ready or it is too much trouble. Sometimes you only have a second or two to capture something. Resolution of the image carries some weight here. A minimum of 6.1 megapixels is desirable. You take the photo, the camera only captures an image. I personally don't like the term "professional camera". Cameras don't make the photographer.

What is the latest version of Kodak EasyShare software that is compatible with a Kodak EasyShare Z740 ?

Kodak Easyshare Z740 Digital Camera Water Damage?

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z740 camera that has water damage. I am not sure where it was purchased, because I bought it from someone. It was in my bag when my water bottle broke open. Sometimes when I charge the batteries, and put them back in the camera, it turns on and works, but other times it doesn't. Where should I take it to be fixed or what should I do??? Please Help!!!!
Thanks,
Felisha

take out the memory card and battery
put it in a bowl of dry rice for 24 hours
it will absorb the moisture
charge the battery
good luck
it may be too late

How can i take a good pictures with my Kodak EasyShare Z740?

First of all, you need to have good light on your subject to take a good picture. Make sure you have pre-focus (by half touch of the shutter button) on your subject. Use flash in low light condition. Do not zoom in under low light condition.

Is there a way to hack a Kodak Easyshare z740 camera's firmware?

I want to extend the video light sensitivity (ISO) and also maybe add 1 or 2 levels to photo setting (PASM) say ISO 800 and 1600. I'm not concerned with the noise increase. I'm not sure Kodak would help me on this.

No one expect the company that designed the cpu in the camera will be able to give you much help. Even repair technicians don't have access to that information.
I'd put all my money on the idea that it is not possible. In most cases these cameras are designed with very small tolerances and the ability to 'unlock' some extra features is nearly impossible.
The factories design these cameras to do what they do, and would never spend the time or the money to design a way to increase ISO on a camera unless they specifically designed the camera to have that ability to begin with.
Not to mention the fact that when adjusting these digital cameras the light values and tools to adjust them have to be nearly exact or the adjustment will fail.

Will a Usb A to Mini B cable fit my Kodak Easyshare Z740?

I need a Usb cable for the Camera, but I don't know what size to buy. Any help is appreciated.
