Is the Kodak EasyShare Z812 a good digital camera?
First of all, I'm a beginner and I want a good camera under $400. Is this a good SLR camera? help, please!
If it does the things you want it to do, its a good camera, though not a SLR. The lens is not interchangeable.
It is a fairly basic point and shoot, pretty decent zoom, and easy to use, and has good reviews from what I have seen.
May I suggest a Nikon D40 instead.
How do I download pictures from my Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS?
I have no idea how to do this. I have been trying for over an hour. The Easyshare software is different and won't transfer pictures. All I want to do is put them on my computer! And the User guide from Kodak doesn't help. Anyone?? I really need to figure this out.
Contact Kodak's support, they'll give you a hand.
In the mean time, do you have a built in card reader on your comp?
If so, stick the memory card in it and transfer your pics that way.
If you don't have a card reader, buy one. They're cheap and the best way to import your pics to comp.
What is the Battery life of a Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS?
I got a Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS and the battery that came with the camera was drained of power within about thirty minutes. Is that normal, or was there a problem with the specific camera? Because if it was just the camera, I will get a new one, but if it is the whole brand, then I won't even bother. I've heard these cameras are good..but how good are they?
Unfortunately Kodak cams are battery hogs, even when using rechargeable.
The batteries that came with your cam were cheap alkaline, you won't get many pictures out of them.
Your best bet is to spring for KLIC-8000 batteries and charger, you'll get more shots out of it.

Does anyone own a Kodak EasyShare Z812 Is Digital Camera?
I just purchased one of these cameras and am waiting to receive it tomorrow. Any reviews on the camera?
I ordered it from bhphotovideo.com.
Also those of you that do have it...what kind of rechargable batteries can you use? Is the Li-Ion 8000 the only one?
Hi. Kodak Z812 IS is a pretty good camera. I have it for almost a month and I am pretty excited about it. It is not quite as good as Canon Powershot S5IS in terms of wide angle and shutter speed but it does it's job nicely for that price. What's good about it is that you can zoom while filming and you can snap a photo from a video. Also it has smart scenes to help you if you are a beginner and it has manual modes it you want to play a little. It does not have manual settings for white balance and ISO is not that brilliant, but you can do without it. Hope I was of help a little bit :) Enjoy your camera and let me know if you need some advice :)
On the surface it looks like a very good camera. Did I say that about Kodak?
Enjoy your camera.
I'm no expert but I've found many point and shoot digi's have their own peculiarities in regards to how they handle difficult lighting situations. Kodak's are no different. Practise is what has helped me understand how and when to use the different modes to get around or utilize the quirks for the better shot.
BTW - Where did you buy the 812?
Can I put videos on Youtube using the Kodak EasyShare Z812 camera?
I believe you can
the movies play in quick time
they can handle that
Battery for Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS?
Does the Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS run on ordinary AA batteries or AA alkaline batteries? The manual that comes with the camera shows only lithium ion batteries.
The Z812 IS is powered by either one CRV3 or two AA Lithium disposable batteries (Kodak doesn’t support the use of Alkaline AA’s or NiMH re-chargeable AA’s).
Would the Kodak EasyShare 8.2MP Digital Camera - Z812 be a good digital camera for an amateur photographer?
If not, please tell me what king of camera would be good for a amateure photographer.
The King 147 is good. It will do you fine and should outlast the warrenty period. - the kodak
a
Which would you recomend, Kodak easyshare Z812 IS or the Canon SX100 IS
Comparing them on dpreview.com, the Kodak has a slightly better optical zoom and better continuous drive.
I'd give points to the Canon for having a manual white balance setting, but maybe the Kodak does, too. I'd also give points to the Canon for having a longer minimum shutter time and minimum focusing distance in macro mode.
You might want to check Kodak's site (manual may be available there) about custom white balance and make sure that it support SDHC cards or you're going to be very limited by not being able to use the high capacity cards.
Other than that, they're pretty similar in the specifications that are listed on dpreview.com. Both have aperture and shutter priority, neither support RAW mode.
From what I've read on dpreview.com, though, I'd have to give a slight edge to the Canon.
Any comments or reviews about the Kodak Easyshare Z812-IS???
does the box come with everything so I can charge it?

I need help deciding between Sony cybershot H3 or Kodak Easyshare Z812. Any cluey people able to advise please
the sony.
the kodaks are cheap cameras.
i work at circuit city and the displays are always breaking and then people that buy them come in and say they dont work anymore and i said well did you buy the protection plan? and they say no. then they are stuck with a broken camera unless they call kodak and pay for them to fix it.
