What's Better: the Kodak Zi6 or the Flip Video Mino?

I want to get one of these small video cameras, but I don't know which one is better. I heard the Zi6 has better video quality, but how much better? I think they both cost about the same, but which is a better camera to get?

I HAVE THE FLIP AND IT HAS GREAT QUAITY. get the flip. youll love what you can do with it, pluss it has more fun little editing things the Zi6 doesnt have GET THE FLIP!!!

Sure, but as with any camera, your skills are what determine easy or hard. And the fact that you are buying a video camera, getting good still photos will be iffy at a minimum. For the price of the Zi6 you can buy a fine Kodak P&S which has excellent resolution and the same video quality of the Zi6

How do you upload to youtube from a kodak Zi6?

my camera has a usb and says it is easy to upload to youtube. but i cant find the manual for how to do it and im confused.

just use the cable to connect to the usb port of your computer, and transfer the videos to your pc. If the formats are avi, wmv or mpg, then you can directly upload to youtube.

---for best editing..

use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/lyrics/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv... finally upload.

or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces....

this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload.

It works very well....just google search for "zillatube"

what is the overall best

The two are very similar. I don't know what specs you want but by looking at them quickly, the kodak is cheaper and has 32GB of storage - while the flip has only 4GB and has a 1 hour limit of storage.

will it work recording video games off a tv?

I don't like to use any camcorder for recording screens. You can always find software programs to record video games; that gives you a much better picture. This can be done for consoles as well.

Some camcorders can accept video input, and you can then use a splitter to send video from your game system to both your camcorder and your TV. I doubt the Kodak Zi6 has this ability.


The below is from CNet's review of the Kodak Zi6.

The good: Solid 720p video; comparatively large LCD; memory-card expansion slot; AA rechargeable batteries included along with protective carrying case and video output cables.

The bad: Insufficient onboard memory and price doesn't include an optional memory card; can't recharge batteries via USB connector; included software isn't Mac compatible.

The bottom line: While bigger than most of its competitors and high priced for a mini camcorder, the Kodak Zi6's attractive design and decent video quality adequately compensate for some usability drawbacks.

I'm getting one soon.It comes with two SD cards,a USB port cord that connects to it,and an AV cable that connects to it.Now I was thinking that I could connect it to the T.V. with the AV cable,save it to the an SD card,plug it in to the USB port,and transfer it to the computer.Will this work,or is the AV cable just to play videos on T.V.?

Nooooo!!! Don't get one. Lol. I mean, it is a great video camera and yes you can record games on it. But I heard that Kodak is releasing a new model soon and that it will be better and cheaper!


But if you already purchased yours and can't return it, it's okay! Because it's an awesome camera!
