how dow I download pictures from my digital camera to my computer. I have a nikon coolpix 4300.?

Do i need a usb cord or just the memory card? and what is the process for the download?

Two simple ways- either take out the memory card and put it into a card reader or connect it thro a USB cable. U connect and viola! its there on ur pc

There are many ways, pick one that's the easiest for you.

connect it using the wires that u got with the cam and then click on my computer and u'll see an icon of ur cam click on it and copy the pics

Likely you need a USB cord to transfer the pics to the PC unless your cam has wireless communication. Newer models have that functionality (but installation on your PC is required). If none of those is available to you, you can use a media reader that plugs into a USB port. Nowadays a media (or card) reader can read from and write to several different types of media and is cheap too, just under $10 at Fry's or CompUSA.

There should have been a cord that came with your camera to plug it in to your computer. Yes it would plug into a usb port. After it is plugged in turn the camera on and a hardware wizard should pop up to help you install. That is if your camera didn't come with an install disk.

use the USB gord if you have it and connect it to your computer. . .ti should open up a new "drive" on your computer and you'll have the pictures right there. If you have a memory card, some of the newer computers (like the dell inspiron 6000) have memory card slots you can put them into. . .

Most newer computers have slots on the front where you can stick the card from the camera. The computer sees the card as another drive such as k: or j: Just go to the drive and drag and drop the pics to your hard drive.

I have a Sony that uses both a USB and a card. There are two solutions. The firs is you can connect your USB cord to your camera and compouter. The Windows XP should recognize your camera as a hard drive so you can go into My Computer and locate an icon that says Removable Drive. Double click it and you should then see the file structure of what is on the memory card. Explore the card to find the folder that contains the captured photos.

The second way is by using a memory card reader. Some computers have them already built in. Some printers have them built in already as well. Slide the memory card into th reader and follow the steps above through My Computer.

The rist method doesn't require any special hardware so it's the easiest. Also, if your camera came with a disk make sure you install the drivers for the camera. My camer doesn't require that you do this but some do.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 4300 and cannot file transfer using the Nikon software.?

In the past, I could simply plug in the camera usb file transfer cord to the computer, turn on the camera, and the files start automatically. For some unknown reason, that functionality disappeared. Now, I have to open the Nikon software, manually launch the file transfer process, and it works. However today, I get an error message saying there is no memory card in the camera, when it is actually in the camera. Help!!

According to the manual you need to setup the camera. Go into the menu, look for pic data/transfer. Select it, then select auto transfer, then on. Here is the manual if you need it. http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/CP4300man.pdf

i am a home user of digital camera and i have a nikon coolpix 4300. i want to buy a new camera can you help me

here are some reviews. good luck!

personally, i love the fuji FinePix E900.

Most cams are good these days, Just make sure you buy one with a minimum of 3.2 megapixel's. That's what it takes to print a 8x10.

go with today model canon sd630 it word the $$$ if u got enough cash.

if u short in cash than i suggest canon sd450. or casio

You might want to stay in the Nikon family, since you already understand their menu system. If you are ready for a real upgrade, maybe you'd consider an SLR... The D50 is a "great little SLR" from Nikon. It has a few "consumer friendly" automatic modes, so it will be an easy transition from your 4300. It still offers total photographic control when you are ready to take charge. Get a "decent" lens, such as their Nikkor AF-S 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G ED DX lens and not the "kit" lens. This pair will cost you less than $1,000 and you will be very happy with it. If you want more lenses for the same money, you can get this camera with two "kit" lenses that are decent, but not as good for the long haul as the one I mentioned. When you are ready to add lenses, the sky is the limit with Nikon. Get a 1 GB memory card, such as the Sandisk "Ultra" for decent write speed. You can get these in the $30 range. An "Extreme" is faster, but I doubt anyone would notice the difference except a pro.

Always get a camera that comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and a charger. You dont want to buy the camers that use AA batteries. AA batteries wont last in a camera.

Nikon Coolpix 4300. What disc can I use?

At present I use a SanDisk Compact Flash 128MB in this camera, which allows me to take about 50 photos. I am going on holiday soon and want to buy a card with a greater memory, maybe 2GB. Any suggestions which card would be best?? Also, what sort of new battery should I buy?. The battery I use now does not seem to hold a charge for very long,.

According to your manual,a CF memory card with a maximum of 128mb is recommended. A larger one may not work. I recommend that you just get more memory cards. You can change them as often as you like. Just remember to turn the camera off first. They don't cost much. Go here. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10&_trksid=m37&satitle=CF+128&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&fgtp= In regards to your battery.Your camera uses either a Nikon EN-EL1 rechargeable battery which was supplied with the camera or 2CR5 non-rechargeable battery. If you need to replace the battery you can find one here. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=EN-EL1&category0= Or you go to nikon mall to find it. http://www.nikonmall.com/category.asp?search_id=3 If you dont have the manual here it is. http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/CP4300man.pdf

nikon coolpix 4300 camera help plz?

i have one of those cameras and i cant upload photos i plugged it through the usb cord but nothing comes then i looked in my computer but i couldnt find it i dont know if there is a software i have to install help me plz

If you open your file manager (Windows Explorer or Mac Find) with your camera turned on, it will show up as a removable drive. Just copy the image files on your cameras memory card to your computer ... or use a card reader on your computer or buy a USB card reader (under $10)

Problem with Nikon Coolpix 4300 memory card... (read details)?

Just today I turned on my camera and it said there was no memory available. (But the memory card in the camera had just had all its images erased yesterday and was properly inserted in the camera.) When I pressed the "Quick" button to see what pictures I had on the camera, the screen said "no images on card." When I took that memory card out and put a different one in, those messages stopped.

So was my camera malfunctioning, or has that memory card somehow been fried? Do memory cards degrade with time? I've had the camera and the memory cards for about three years, never had any problems with any of them before. I always take good care of my camera and memory cards, never drop them, leave them sitting in the heat or cold for long periods of time, etc.

Memory cards do degrade over a time depending on how you use it, where you store it. Never bend the memory card. Always put the memory card in a memory card wallet or a small case.

Did you delete the photos using your computer? If so, then your memory card is corrupted. Try formatting your card in your camera (NOT IN COMPUTER), if works then its fine otherwise there is some internal fault with the card.

What do you think about the Nikon D60 SLR digital camera?

I have purchased the Nikon Coolpix 4300 and the S5. I loved the 4300, but the pictures that I have taken with the S5 leave a lot to be desired. I have never used an SLR before but would love to learn and in the mean time I can use the automatic mode. Tell me, is this camera right for me? Is it worth the money?

Sure it is worth the money if you want to learn how to use an adjustable camera.

Before you spend the money for the latest and greatest technology, buy the little brother, the D40 with a 18-55 mm lens for under $470. It has a sensor at least 15 times larger than the S5, so the resolution will be much higher.

If you do move into the DSLR system, spend your money on lenses because as you know, you will want to change your camera body about every four or five years, but you will keep your lenses for decades.

Problem with my digital camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera. I am havng trouble when I take photos of people. The flash seems to be so intense that they almost always close their eyes. I'm new to using this camera, so any help would be really appreciated. I've tried not using the flash, but then they photo turns out really bad. Any ideas for me?

See if the camera has a "red eye reduction" feature. The flash partially fires several time before taking the actual picture.

The feature works by causing the pupils in the eyes to constrict, reducing the reflections in the eye that show up red in flash photos.

Using this feature might reduce the tendency for the subjects to reflexively close their eyes when the primary flash fires.
