I lost the CD and the wire to connect it to the PC.Is it possible for me to buy the CD and the wire without buying the entire thing?

BTW,I bought this at my local Sears store and I'm hoping they may sell them.I need to upload photos to my PC so I can email them off to my relatives.

You don't really need them. Just buy a card reader.

Check the Manual:

There should be clear instructions on how to turn it on & also there should be a "trouble-shooter" section which will answer common questions like, Why won't my camera turn on?

Lithium batteries (little square ones)?

1. Make sure its installed in the camera the right way round. Because it's square, it's easy to reverse it.
2. Make sure the batteries are fully charged.

Regular batteries?

1. Make sure they are fresh and strong. Sometimes, it's better to buy batteries from a reputable camera store. It may cost a little more money, but you'll be guaranteed the freshest & best quality batteries.

external lens mount for nikon coolpix 5600(pointandshoot) to use slr lenses?

i just wanna be able to put bigger lenses on my camera, is there a way to do it?
ya i know it isnt the best solution
i actually got a old 4600 with screwed up autofocus button, i may hack it into a quasi-dslr just to prove it can be done, just wanted to know if there was any commercially made products that'd allow me to clip a generic lense onto my camera

Some Coolpix cameras can use auxiliary lenses (fisheye, wide angle and two different telephoto extenders), but they only work on selected Coolpix cameras

I have those lenses for my old warhorse 990. You will have to check to see what other cameras will use these lenses.

I am guessing you have not looked at any SLR lenses when next to your Coolpix or you would have guessed the answer ...

Nikon Coolpix 5600 LCD BROKEN from inside?

Hey, was out the other night and got drunk gave camera to my sober friend as responsbility and now i realise its broken from inside, you can still take photos and stuff you just can't see the screen, the camera is two years old and is now being sold for around £155, anywhere that i can get it fixed or is it not worth it? its my not camera its my dads and im very very scared to tell him!!! please help thank you - if you need any more info plz tell me

Unfortunately, it may be difficult at this point to get it fixed, or if you still can get it fixed, it will be more than the value of the camera.

It's certainly worth investigating & getting a quote, but don't be surprised if the parts are no longer available or the cost is astronomical.

Digital cameras are very fragile & cannot take the slightest abuse. Also, because the technology is advancing so fast, cameras which are more 3-6 months old quickly lose their value, and repair becomes redundant.

DON'T: open it up yourself or try and fix it yourself. It makes matters worse. Digital cameras communicate internally by IR communciation. If you accidentally disrupt the path, game over. Also any dust and debris which may get into the camera will really cause problems.

Bite the bullet, tell your Dad, & see if Nikon can still repair it at a reasonable price.

I have the 4600, which is nearly identical to the 5600. You would have 5 MP instead of 4 MP and you have sound capabilities that I don't. The 4600 was my previous "pocket camera" and it's a nice little camera. The lens is good.

To see a few sample images made with the 4600 go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/tags/4600/ and then click on each individual photo and read the description. I'm sure the 5600 has to be "at least as good" as the 4600.

. Its like it is not connected. I tried to do it manualy and it only reads 700,800 or Nikon900 (windows xp)
I am computer stupid, but I know it is pluged in correct an it is on ( camera)HELP.
Oh I bought it used so no directions(camera)

Nikon CoolPix 5600?

My camera will not take more than one picture at a time. I have to manually turn it off and then on again and take another picture. What is going on here? Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do about it? I haven't been able to find anything in the manual about it. Thanks!

I cannot find my user manuel since moving. I have pictures to download to my computer but cannot for the life of me remember how to do it?? Can anyone walk me through it?

you have to find the correct USB cable to connect your camera to the computer, make sure its off before its connected, then turn it on once it is, then a screen should pop up giving you options for downloading

I connected my USb cord to camera, and turned camera on and nothing popped up to guide me through the download of my phitis. What else could be wrong before the op up as one answer said will show??Help please.

you need to put the camera in the review mode.
