How can I get my Nikon Coolpix P50 to serve as a webcam?
Its brand new, USB cable and all. Just need to know if and how it can be set up to be used as a webcam.
You need an AV->USB adapter (or video-in card) and the webcam software http://www.willingsoftware.com
Does the Nikon Coolpix P50 have a video mode?
I'm planning on buying it soon, but was wondering if it was able to shoot videos?
Yes it does. It's a great camera. You'll love it.
Is the Nikon Coolpix P50 a good camera?
My mum bought me a camera. It is the Nikon Coolpic p50. What are your opinions on this camera? Is it a good camera?
Thanks.
I need a point and shoot camera. This was the only point and shoot that also has wide angle lens for anywhere near this price range. Wide angle is just better for Real Estate pictures. While the wide angle isn't huge it is a vast improvement over those camera without it. I find it especially useful for indoor shots. It doesn't make the various rooms look smaller than they are. Outside shots are OK, but they are certainly not the professional looking shots you can get with a very expensive camera and lens. For the price this thing can't be beat. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great quality lower end camera that does a real good job for a point and shoot model.
but now I upgraded to Nikon D90.
12.3-megapixel image quality inherited from the award-winning D300 with groundbreaking features, the D90’s breathtaking, low-noise image quality is further advanced with EXPEED image processing. Split-second shutter response and continuous shooting at up to 4.5 frames-per-second provide the power to capture fast action and precise moments perfectly, while Nikon’s exclusive Scene Recognition System contributes to faster 11-area autofocus performance, finer white balance detection and more. The D90 delivers the control passionate photographers demand, utilizing comprehensive exposure functions and the intelligence of 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Stunning results come to life on a 3-inch 920,000-dot color LCD monitor, providing accurate image review, Live View composition and brilliant playback of the D90’s cinematic-quality 24-fps HD D-Movie mode.
Outfit includes the 5.8x AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED lens with VR image stabilization and legendary Nikkor optical quality.

Can a Nikon Coolpix P60 (or P50) use filters?
I know certain compact cameras have rings on them to attach a filter holder. I was wondering if this is the case for the new Nikon CoolPix P60? The P50 has the same type of body if that helps since the P60 isn't released yet.
Look here for the full info on the P50

Call Nikon USA's free live tech help line, (800) NIKON-UX (which is open all the time, 24/7/365) and ask them which Coolpix cameras do accept filters

is the nikon p50 coolpix camera any good?
i have read that the anti shake thing isnt the normal one as used on other cameras, they call it electrical something. I juast want it for family photos etc. I was also looking at the lumix tz5 but with this being half price at £75, i thought it might be ok? Thanks
The images you get from the camera will be brilliant.
The problem I have with Nikon compact cameras is shutter lag, so picturing things as they happen can be a pain :-(
So for taking pictures of anything that moves, get a Canon or Fuji. I use my Nikon for landscapes and buildings so no problem!
Cannon PowerShot SX110 or Nikon COOLPIX P50?
I'm a beginner, but have done same photography before with my dad's Nikon D300. I mostly take pictures at rock concerts, nature, or just me and my friends modeling. Which camera would be better for me? And if you have any type of Cannon or Nikon, do you like them? Any down side?

Also, which camera has a better response time? I need something very fast. Thank you, any answers would be appreciated.
They both have small sensors and they both use ordinary batteries. I would strongly recommend getting a camera with a larger sensor that uses a lithium ion battery.
How to get HP Image Zone 5.0 to recognize my new Coolpix P50 camera? It show under my computer as a camera.?
I just bought a new digital camera and it will not work with my old hp image zone software. I will not display in the list of cameras. I bought a Nikon Coolpix P50. and it shows up under Windows XP as a camera and not as a removable storage device as my old camera did.
The thing I really liked about the HP Image Zone software is that it puts all the pictures in folders according to the months they were taken. Keeps things nice and organized when you take 5000 pictures a year.
I need to find out how to get my camera to work with that software or I need to find another program to remove the pictures from the camera and sort them by the month they were taken.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

WHY ARE YOU HIDEING YOUR FACE
Who are you! come one, ouT with it, your that guy who is throwing rotton fruit at my car when I drive down the street, come on admit it!!!!!
AHHHHHHH
How can I get my lens to close on my Nikon CookPix P50?
My Nikon CoolPix P50 shows a lens error, and it won't close (the lens). It makes the whirring noise it does when the lens/zoom is closing, but this time it gives a lens error and won't close. It seems to be stuck. I've had this problem before and been able to fix it, by pushing a few buttons. This time nothing seems to work.
Please help me compare the 2 point-and-shoot cameras: Nikon Coolpix P50 and Fujifilm z20fd-I already saw stats
The Fujifilm is sexier looking.
The Nikon has image stabilization and a slightly longer optical zoom, better flash (twice as powerful) and a faster lens.
Both use the state of the art Li-ion battery and use the standard SD memory cards.
While the Fujifilm has a slightly higher pixel count, it is not significant and here is why:

Based upon the above, I would choose the P50
