How do you save pictures in a Nikon Coolpix P80?
So for Christmas I am planning on buying a Nikon Coolpix P80 and I was wondering, how do you save pictures on these cameras? Do you use a memory card like an ordinary digital camera does?
Yes, the Nikon COOLPIX P80 can use SD (Secure Digital) memory cards and is SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) capable. The P80 also has 50MB of internal memory, but it alone will not be adequate for normal shooting; it's only enough capacity to store approximately 12 high quality JPEGs.
how much is it going to cost me if i wanna buy nikon coolpix P80 from either US or Australia?
how much is it going to cost me if i wanna buy nikon coolpix P80 from either US or Australia?and also its case.
What's the difference between the nikon coolpix p80 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28K?
I'm looking to buy a new camera with my christmas money and would like to know what the difference is between the two.
also are there any other cameras you suggest under $300 that are just as good if not better preferably that can have a fish-eye lens attached to them?
honestly I do not know a lot about digital cameras but I'm about to take a photography class, any information would be helpful.
the FZ28 has very good reviews
All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on.......
The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.
I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

-Sony cyber-shot H50
-Nikon coolpix P80
Thanks

well i am into motor sports.....i bought the GO PRO HERO 5mp wide angle lens sports camera,it is waterproof, and has several mounting devices with the camera when you purchase it, it is very very very sturdy and waterproof up to 110 foot of water, below is a link of the footage i recently recorded, make sure you click the high Definition below the video

I just got the Nikon coolpix P80 camera as a gift, can anyone reccomend a good book or video to help me learn?
I love this camera, but all the functions are a tad confusing, does anyone know of any product out there that can help me understand it better? Most of the Nikon guides out there are for SLR cameras. I know this camera is fairly new, so maybe a guide is coming soon.
Wow, nice gift
Shutter speeds, f/stops, ISO and lens selection is the same, whether a SLR or SLR-like camera.
Start shooting using your camera's program mode until you get the feel for the other controls (auto-focus, holding the camera in the "three point" method ... left hand on the lens, eye and face up next to the cameras viewfinder and your right hand on the cameras body and finger on the shutter release).
As you get those technical items under control you can start shooting using the aperture priority to control the cameras depth of field and later the shutter priority mode to take action shots without blur
You can find good traditional photo books in the library. The only difference will be that you will be using a 10MP sensor instead of film
Is the Nikon Coolpix P80 a good camera to do astrophotography with?
What is a good camera to do astrophotography with other than the Canon EOS 350D, Canon EOS 20 and Nikon D50?
Wikipedia discusses this and notes that Canon has a specific camera for the job

Is is normal for a nikon coolpix P80 to focus non-stop on the sport setting?
Every time I use the sport setting my camera makes a funny noise which i recently found out was my camera focusing non-stop. Is this normal for this camera or do I need to take it to a camera shop and get it checked out?
Yes that is normal. I do not know what exactly it is called for Nikons, but under a Canon system that is called AI Servo focus mode. When shooting things like sports it get very slow and annoying to keep having to press the shutter release button down partway to focus and re-focus. With the continual focus you can just hold the button down partway and the camera will take care of re-focusing until you are ready to take a picture. Makes it much easier to track the focus with fast moving objects.
Where can I buy a LCD monitor cover for Nikon coolpix P80 ?
I've looked online but couldn't find anything.. If there is no monitor cover for coolpix p80, at least tell me which other model should fit with my camera..

Can you buy a remote that works with a Nikon Coolpix P80?
I really want a Nikon Coolpix P80, but, I'm also into self portraits
No the camera doesn't accept a remote, but it does have a 3 to 10 second timer.
I'm looking at 2 cameras - a Fuji Finepix s2000 and a Nikon Coolpix P80. Which one is best?
I've been able to narrow down my search to these two cameras. The Fuji is $230 and the Nikon $250 - basically the same price. The pixels and zoom are what I am seeking, and both have a good video function. But each is harshly reviewed. I'd love to know what the Yahoo community thinks. Or if you have something else in mind that is within this price range with a similar zoom. Thanks much.
Go with the Nikon... the Nikon will have better glass in the lens for a better photo. You will not be able to see the difference but the difference will be there.
