When will the Nikon Coolpix S520 be in shops?

Hi
Looking to get this camera but can't get an answer on when it is in shops. Anyone know? I have tried contacting Nikon and had no reponse and retailers like Amazon seem to think it came and went in Jan (on the day it was announced).

Usually the larger camera stores get the newest products first, then the other retail stores get them as production rates increase.

Check around and see if you can find a pro camera store. They have contact with the Nikon rep on a continual basis, so if they don't specifically know, they have the means to find out.

How can I take pictures of objects that are close up?

Everytime I try, my camera will focus and while its focusing it will go past how i want it to be focused. only i cant stop it, even when it looks focused i take the picture and its still blurred :S
Any help???

does you camera have a macro setting - normally on the dial it will look like a close up flower. try looking up your camera on internet or in the manual and look up macro setting

Don't know the camera but check if there is a little button or control somewhere with a little flower on it. This is the macro control and allows close-ups.

As advice above, but also check your lighting - if there is not enough light, the lens will not focus on extreme close up objects

Use the macro mode. Look for the picture of a flower. When taking the picture hold the button down halfway until it focuses then press it all the way down to take the picture being careful to keep the camera perfectly still. For best results use a tripod.
