Nikon COOLPIX S700 Video Tutorial
To help familiarize yourself with the Nikon COOLPIX S700 camera, here's a short video which offers descriptions of a few of the camera's ...

has anyone taken pictures with the nikon coolpix S700?
does it take good pictures?
After reading this link, I am sure it will take great photos, if you take some time to learn some basic camera skills.
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0708/07083005nikons700.asp
It has Image Stabilization (VR), an extended ISO range (3200) for shooting in low light and with the "D-Lighting" processor which enhances all the images.
The best part is it has one of the largest sensors in cameras of its class and a high pixel count (12MP).
If i buy a nikon coolpix s700, do i have to buy a ''secure digital memory card''?
ok, im gonna get a new camera eventually and i saw this camera that was a good deal for what it offered. its a nikon coolpix s700 digital camera. ill give you the link.... but if you scroll down after the camera info, under were it says accesories, it has memory cards that are $100. i think thats to expensive. can i buy a normal memory card instead of one of those secure digital memory cards???

thank you
I have a bad news, a good news, and ugly news for you.
The bad:
Yes, you do have to buy SD card.
The good:
No, it does not cost over $100, it costs about $20, or $30-40 for a really fast really good brand one.
The ugly:
The retailer you found is a big time scam operation. They will not sell you the camera at advertised price unless you also buy some of the overpriced accessories or will upsell you to something else, or will get you the same camera for a lot more money. Or it will magically become out of stock....
That's in the best case. In worst case they will take your money and run.
Look here:
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/TheDigitalNerds
A hint for you - never go with retailers who offer the deal that sounds too good to be true. It usually is. Check http://bhphoto.com/ for reference. If the price is lower than 5-10% off of what they sell it for, it is probably a scam. And always check resellerratings.com before ordering.
Good luck,
LEM.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/SanDisk-2GB-SD-Card-SDSDB-2048/sem/rpsm/oid/134292/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Circuit City offers a 2GB card which is MORE then enough space for only $14.99!
I hope this helps! But to answer your question you have to use SD memory with a camera that takes SD memory. You won't be able to use anything else.
nikon,d300-d3-and coolpix s700. all are near 12 million pix. what is the diffrence in three types?
Because d3 is very expences then coolpix. is sure all cameras give same result by due to same high mp.
1) the cameras do not give the same result.
2) megapixel numbers do not tell you the real story.
3) the difference is actual the physical size of the sensor
4) the D3 has the biggest chip, followed by the D300 and then the S700, which has a tiny sensor chip.
5) Because the S700 has a tiny chip, it's a sensor that makes noisier images, with poorer performance in low light. Moreover, you don't get access to specialized lenses.
6) the D3 has the largest sensor, which means the best performance in low light, clean noise-free images, and better dynamic range (brightness to darkness values in image). The D300 is good too, due to its sensor size, which is large, but not as big as the D3.
7) On the D3 and D300, you can change lenses. That's a big deal, allowing you to choose the best lens to match the situation.
So, the cameras do not give the same result and you should not evaluate them by the megapixel number alone.
IN simpler terms, you pay 5,000$ for the d3 for a reason, it's
a professional camera, and it's not going to be rivaled by a
point and shoot camera ( at least not in this generation )
coolpix cameras are very "cheap" in the camera world. The
nikon d3, and d300 are thousands of dollars, and trust me, you're not going to get the same results. Pro. Cameras are
Pro. cameras for a reason, they are used professionally,
and those coolpix cameras are made for day-to-day
use
Fujifilm s700 or Nikon Coolpix p50?
does anyone have these cameras? if so what are the features, and so on...they are about the same price range so i dont care about that
I absolutly love my nikon p50 It has video and is so easy to use. My 10 year old can operate it as for the features check out wal mart. com I also bought a 2gb memory card so it will take 98pics or 30 mins of video and it has a huge easy to see lcd screen
the canon ixus 950, ixus 80 or nikon coolpix?
i'm looking for a new digital compact camera. i have used canons a lot and have narrowed my choices down to:
Ixus 950
Ixus 80
or
Nikon Coolpix S700
I want a camera that takes SD cards and has a good ISO range. can someone please give me some advice or suggest a different camera altogether?
Thanks!
They are all fine cameras, all use SD cards ... the S700 has the highest ISO setting (3200) and some new features, like face recognition and D-Lighting which rescues dark or backlit pictures .
it has really great options and its price is too afordable
Which of these two digtial cameras should i get?
I cant decide which camera to get i either want to get the sony cyber-shot W130 or the nikon coolpix S700. i like the smile shutter technology for the cybershot but i think the coolpix i better quality
what is your opinion for both of them and which one should i get?
Sony cameras last forever. I use 2 on a daily basis and have used each at least a thousand times. I have also owned Nikon's and like the fact that they have more user functions than a Sony. But...for up close photos and outside pictures, Sony is the best.
what is a good sub $300 digital camera that takes good video with sound and takes good 7-8+ MP pix?
I'm looking for a compact or ultra-compact camera that takes good video and 8 or more mega-pixel pictures, for a general idea of what i am looking at, i am looking at the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS, and the Nikon Coolpix S700 so far
when looking for video usage from your camera..you want to capture at the highest resolution possible available in the market...right now that 1280x720 for compacts... such as Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX37. You also want a camera that allows optical zoom during recording... the Panasonic does, the Canon 880IS does not. if you will be doing any post-capture editing... MJPEG (.avi) are easier to work with than cameras that record to Quicktime (.mov) or MP4.
Does anybody have the Casio Z1200 digital camera model? please rate form 1-10 quality-wise...?
I'm planning to buy a digital camera thats small, portable &user friendly..3 of my choices are Casio Z1200, Nikon Coolpix S700 and Sony DSC W200..Basically they all have the same features but Sony is too pricey and I don't know the prices of the other two yet...i know Nikon and Sony are of sterling reputation in the digicam world but what about Casio?
I wouldn't recommend the brand. Picture quality just isn't there.
I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
If those are your only choices I'd go with Nikon for sure.
As you said, Sony is a bit pricey.
Which camera is best?
Hi
i am planning to buy one camera. pls suggets me from the following or any other in 12 pixel range.
Nikon Coolpix S700
CANON PowerShot SD950
OLYMPUS stylus1200
Cyber-shot® Digital Camera DSC-W200
i would go for the canon. very reliable and always takes a good picture! I have one
