DTH ops prepare for 3D HD STBs Indiantelevision.com

However, none of the Indian broadcasters have any 3D content. Recently, Star India CEO Uday Shankar said flagship channel Star Plus is 3D ready and once the infrastructure is up, viewers will be able to sample it.

Other mainline broadcasters have not worked on 3D content as they feel the market is not prepared for it yet.

"Even if we don't have content yet, we are ready for the future," Banerji said. "We have learnt from the TV manufacturers that every month close to 500 3D ready TV sets get sold and 10-12,000 households have 3D TV sets."

Videocon d2h has already launched its 3D ready HD service. But as there is no content available, they have one active HD 3D channel on which subscribers can experience the 3D content, a senior executive said.

Dish TV is also testing the 3D technology, Dish TV COO Salil Kapoor said. "All HD boxes are 3D ready. We are testing the technology."

Meanwhile, all Tata Sky HD boxes are also 3D ready, the company spokesperson said.

Nikon D2H Review

Take a look at my latest and greatest toy. The Nikon D2H! This is by far my favorite camera I've ever operated

Does any one know how to use the flahs on a Nikon D2H?

If anyone knows this type of camera, can you tell me how the flash is used because I have to take some night pictues. Can you also tell me what is the cold temperature tolerance of it? I don't know if a temperature in the 40's will be good for it.

Here's a thorough (29 page) review of the Nikon D2H with plenty of tips on it's use.

And another review with comments about the flash system.

And one more.

I doubt that temperatures in the 40's will hurt it, as it's designed for sports photographer braving the elements throughtout the damp and chilly winter. I read on Nikonians.org (a favorite forum I belong to) that users have used that model at temperatures below -10 degrees F. with no problem. The only handicap was the shorter lifespan of the batteries because of the temperature.

Here's a quote from DVDMike on that forum.
"I'm on my way back from the Adirondacks and I thought that I'd post that the D2H performed quite admirably in very cold weather, including the battery. I shot two days in daytime temperatures ranging from -10f to -20f (without wind chill) and shot several hundred pictures without changing or charging the battery. I changed the battery once when the original dipped below the 100% mark and I can't tell you how many pictures that I took on that battery before driving up to snow country. All and all, I took over 1200 pictures on the trip and changed the battery once. I shot everything in RAW+Jpg basic mode, used AF-continuous for almost all shots and used 300mm, 70-200vr and the 17-35. Many shots were taken with the 1.4 TCII teleconverter. The D2H performed in the frigid cold just as it had done for me in normal temperatures. This is probably not a surprise to anyone, but I thought that I'd mention it anyway"

Here's some links to info about the D2H and flash use.

You might want to go there and join. It's a great source of helpful information.

The D2H, unlike it's prosumer cousins, doesn't have a built-in flash. You'll need to attach an SB series flash for full functionality.

use the flash by using the flash formula

Im working for a d2h and i have some questions?

1. how many bowstring equal the price of the d2h
2. How long will it take me to get that amount of bowstring
3. Will it be fast?
4. Is it worth it
Rs experts only!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know...
Sorry mate.

Can anyone give me a rune2h, D2h, or a granite maul for free or for a cheap price on runescape?

First of all, a rune halberd sells for about 100K tops. Granite mauls are about 80K. And a D2h is like 1.3Mil. So you probably won't get one of those. But you should be able to afford a rune hally or a g maul, but try not to get ripped off.

yes i can sell u a rune hally(worth more than a gmaul) for around 90k(usually sells for 150k)

Nikon D2h ... how does it compare?

I've shot Nikon my whole life - FM2s, F4s, the D1 and most recently, the D100.

I prefer the ruggedness of pro cameras, even if the predominantly plastic D100 has more pixels.

Not having the money for a D2X, I'm seriously considering a used D2h (retailing used for about $1200 on Craigslist).

Any opinions, comparisons and contrasts, etc. are GREATLY appreciated!

The D2h is claimed to be a great sports shooter camera thanks to its Multicam 2000 autofocus system, the same used in the D2x.
You can find more sample images here: http://www.pbase.com/cameras/nikon/d2h
A small pitfall of the D2h is its 4.1 MP rating, though this might not be of concern for some users who don't print large or sell images that require higher resolutions. Also said to be the best nikon camera to produce low noise images, perhaps due to its 4.1 MP and large sensor.
A nikon user such as yourself should definitely know about nikonians.com, You can find lots of help there and in their forum.

I personally would love to have the D2Hs.
You will get more and better answers over on flickr D2 group.

Nikon D70 and D2H looking for the 24- 120 lens?

I would like a lens that I could use with both .. mainly for wedding photography ... can you help

That is a pretty long lens for shooting any event .. You may find the new Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 the best lens for your application. The Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G is the lens you are looking for, but as you see at its longest focal length, it is a f/5.6 lens and attempting to get good Bokeh will be problematic. Shooting with the 24-70 at 70mm @ f/2.8 may suit your shooting needs better.

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/bokeh.htm

I am curious why you would think that you could NOT use the same lenses on your Nikon DSLR's. That is what camera systems are all about. Compatibility.

Nikon d2h shutter failure?

My Nikon d2h is getting a error message after every shot.. is this a sign of the shutter failing? I checked the actuation and it has less than 6K...

Yup, that's one of the typical signs of shutter failure. Usually it's accompanied by actual mechanical failure - that is, one of the shutter blades blowing out - but not always.

If your shutter really only has 6,000 shots on it and the camera's still under warranty (and maybe even if it's not), Nikon should cover that repair - keep in mind, though, not all those shutter count programs are as accurate as you think.

If Nikon doesn't cover it, don't feel bound to send your camera to them - there are plenty of other repair shops around who can do the same repairs, often for less than Nikon would charge.

what do photographers rate the most ? the fuji S3 or the nikon D1H or D2H?

Of the three choices above, the Nikon D2H by a long country mile. That's a real no-nonsense piece of machinery, solid as a rock and performs every bit like the pro-level camera that it is! I drool at the thought of this camera!

how to sell d2h in runescape?

I need to sell dragon two handed sword in runescape, but noone buys it in ge. If I try to sell it directly, it is 70k more expensive, so noone buys! Help me please
p.s. noone buys it in ge at lowest price

If, and only if, you need to get rid of it quickly, sell it at lowest price, if you have spare time, Just let it stay there for a few days on mid price, and I assure it will sell.

Can one view a pic on a labtop with Nikon D2H?

Depends on how you can transport the pics to the laptop.
Does your cam have a usb connector? The usb connector when used with proper drivers can download the pics on to the laptop and then the pics can be viewed.

If not, then you might need a card reader. The card reader reads the pics from the memory card within your camera.

what is better in runescape great axe, whip, flail,or d2h?

just answer the question i want to see what is the best in your opinion

Analysis in three categories: attack speed, power, and special attack:

Dragon Great Axe: Attack speed: slow. Power: Good. Special attack: Nice, if you use stat restoration potions to off-set the negative effects. Analysis: Very useful in the duel arena, castle wars, and other combat minigames, but not as a primary weapon. The only really good part about it is its special attack.

Abyssal Whip: Attack speed: very high! Power: Good. Special attack: Poor. Analysis: Very good as a primary combat weapon, but it's expensive, has a poor special attack, and will not let you train strength. If you have the money, though, and aren't going to be risking it, it's a good weapon.

Flail: (I'm assuming you're talking about the barrows flail?) Attack speed: Meh. Power: Decent. Special: Requires the full set of armor. Analysis: I'm not personally a fan of barrows items, especially since the armor needs to be constantly repaired and is costly to upkeep. If you have the money, though, I'd go with Guthans to heal yourself, or D'harok's great axe if you're proficient in using it without dying.

Dragon Two-handed sword: Attack speed: Abysmal. Terrible. Bleagh! Power: Great! Special: ...Disappointing. Analysis: For such a difficult item to get, it's no wonder that the price of the D2H dropped so significantly so soon after its release. Sure, its power lets you hit far harder than an axe or a whip, but how much energy its special takes doesn't make it useful in a 1 on 1 fight, and its attack speed is so slow that a dagger user can hit you four or five times (with special) before you swing twice. Also, the dragon halberd--much cheaper and easier to get--hits just about as fast and hard, has greater reach, a cooler special attack, and just works better. I was disappointed with the two-handed sword, and quickly sold it for cash after I obtained one.

All in all, it really depends on your strategy. Like many other high levels, I prefer to use the dragon axe or more ideally, the poisoned dragon dagger for their special attacks, and fight with the abyssal whip. Really, though, there's a time and place for almost every high level weapon.

And there's nothing more amusing than a 126 in full bronze, wielding just a bronze dagger. ;)
