Olympus Evolt E-300 (and goodies) FOR SALE!!
I'm selling my E-300 to in order to buy a newer (better) camera.

Is it possible to find flashes/lens for Olympus Evolt E-300?
I recently purchased a used Olympus Evot E-300 D SLR camera. It came with one 14-45mm lens. I'm looking to purchase additional lens' as well as a flash, but I'm having trouble finding equipment compatible with this camera. I'm worried that because this is an older camera, I won't be able to find the right equipment. It's also quite possible I'm looking in all the wrong places, any help is greatly appreciated!
You can find lenses all over the place. Ebay, bhphotovideo.com/, Adorama.com, Keh.com, they all stock olympus lenses. The e-300's lens mount is the same as all of olympus' other digital slrs (e-5100, e-510, e-3, etc.) so a lens that will fit them will fit your camera. Basically, any four-thirds specification lens (like this one :http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/504906-REG/Olympus_261057_70_300mm_f_4_5_6_Zuiko_ED.html) will fit your camera. As well, any four-thirds spec'd flash will work on your camera (like this one :http://www.adorama.com/IOMFL36.html?sid=121906360969239) will work with your camera.
Hope this helps!

they have everything you'll want, from flashes to lenses, the whole enchilada. This is where i get all of my DSLR add-ons. This is a really nice place to purchase items.

those are some flashes from olympus

and those are some lenses from olympus
those are online brokers. If you mean on land, that could be much harder, and more expensive. You'd have to call around. I've been in a lot of photography shops and i see very little to no olympus gear, your best bet is to get it online.

does the olympus evolt e 300 record video?
Does the Olympus Evolt E 300 record video clips? Also, I'm new to DSLR and is there now way to view what your taking pictures of on the LCD screen?
If this is a dumb question, sorry.
No, it can't record video. It's a DSLR, so the sensor is bigger than a conventional point and shoot sensor, so in order to record live video, it would suck up a bunch of power. (Despite having a smaller sensor than most other DSLRs because of its four-thirds format)
If you want to know if it has "live preview" like so many people coming from point and shoots are used to, no. THe E 300's successor does though. I believe it's called the E 330.
Hope that helps!
Olympus Evolt E-300 VS Canon 300D?
I'm really interested in these two cameras since I can actually afford them. >__<
So I'm interested to know which one is better? At least for taking portraits because that's what I'll be using it for. Thanks a lot!
First, Link 1 below is to a side by side comparison of the two cameras, so you can check out the specifications there.
Based purely on specifications alone, the E-300 is more impressive. More megapixels, more metering options, some more flexibility in terms of exposure factors like shutter speeds and exposure compensation.
However, I think something that's more important than both cameras lies in the companies that support them as well as some of the caveats surrounding the features these cameras have.
First, Canon offers many, many more options when it comes to lenses. Their lineup is much more extensive than the one from Olympus, so you will have more choice and flexibility (especially when it comes to cost) in choosing lenses that you need for your type of photography. There are about 30 lenses produced for the 4/3rds system on Olympus including third-party manufacturers other than Olympus. On the other hand, Canon by itself has over fifty lenses in its lineup, and this doesn't include the multitude of lenses available from third-party manufacturers like Sigma and Tamron.
Another consideration is the focal length multiplier associated with the cameras. Essentially, both cameras are "cropped" sensors, that is, the camera discards a portion of the image, that is it "crops" off a portion of it before storing it in memory. This is expressed as a multiplier, so 1.0 would be full-frame. The Canon is 1.6x whereas the Oly is 2x. Because of this multiplier, you have to basically multiply the focal length of any lens by this multiplier to get the true focal length of the lens. Why is this important? Well, if you need a specific focal length for your purposes, there's a good chance on the 4/3rds system, because there are so few manufacturers making lenses for it, that you may not be able to find the lens you need.
I'll apply this focal length example to your portrait lens choices. Conventional portrait lenses are usually primes, or fixed focal length lenses- they offer consistently sharper images than any zooms. Popular choices for this focal length are 50mm lenses for half to full-length shots and 85 or 100 (even 135) for head and shoulders only shots. For Olympus, with the 2x multiplier, you would need a 25mm to get 50mm equivalent, about 40 to get 85, and 50+ for 100mm. Your cheapest option is the 35mm f/3.5 lens at $200 (!), and this may not even be a great portrait lens- you really should get a low aperture, like f/2.8 or smaller, to blur out the background behind your subject. From there, you have the 30mm f/1.4 from Sigma ($430), 24mm from Sigma ($340), 50 f/2 ($430). As you can see, it is incredibly expensive, and a lot of these may not even meet the focal length you need!
For the Canon side, you have a lot more flexibility. Your options include the 35mm f/2 ($230), 50mm f/1.8 ($80- the BEST Canon bang for the buck portrait lens), 50mm f/1.4 ($310), 85mm f/1.8 ($340), and many more third party lenses available. With Canon, you can afford fast aperture lenses for less money than on the 4/3rds system. In all honesty, it will be cheaper for you to get started with good portrait lenses if you go with the Canon system.
Overall, although the E-300 offers more in terms of specifications, I would go for the Canon in terms of lens support system and future availability of more diverse lenses. If I could make a suggestion though, I don't know what your budget is, but I would suggest saving up and getting the Canon 350D, the successor to the 300D, which can be purchased with a kit lens for around $500 (Link 2). The 300D is 2 generations behind, and the performance gains from the 350D are significant- better performance at higher ISO levels, bigger buffer for taking consecutive shots (14 pictures in one burst versus 4 for the 300D), and a larger LCD for viewing photos on. I think it may be worth a look.
Hope this helps. Feel free to edit your post or contact me if you need more info.
which one is better Olympus Evolt E-300 or Canon rebel Eos 300?
olympus E300 is the more solid camera (magnesium body, all lenses have a metal lens mount) but doesn't have alot of lenses on the market (about 25 of them vs 80 for Canon)
Canon has the advantage in quantity and quality of high end zooms (24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8 L, etc)
Go pick both up, My wife chose the Olympus and has been happy with it

Seriously; when it comes down to choosing one camera from two choices, it's not about comparing statistics. You've already narrowed your choices down. Go to your local camera store and try both of them. The one you love using the most is the camera for you.
