Olympus FE-240

Olympus FE-240 provides magnification power in a convenient compact form. very stylish and slender metal body, available in both black and silver ...

How do you enable the panorama mode on an Olympus FE-240?

I have an Olympus FE-240. I would like to be able to take panoramic pictures, but on the menu that option (along with scene) is currently ghosted and I cannot enable that option. I have read online that you just need the Master software (which I installed on my computer) and an xD picture card (which I also have).

you must have it in the wrong mode
the manual will tell you which mode to use
probably the landscape mode

What is the better camera Olympus FE 240 or FE 250 ?

So I thought I'd get a camera and decided it needed to be a compact, but one which I might be able to have some fun with and learn a bit with, as well as take some 'happy snaps' without too much technical knowledge.

I've only recently got a lap top too, so I'm looking forward to cutting and shutting images - and getting rid of those old photo albums!

In the shop I was shown an Olympus 240 and it looked great - much more advanced than the throw away 'Kodac Instamatic', which was my last camera!

I guess there must be dozens of good units out there, but this FE240 looks like it will do everything I could ever think of. But now I see the FE250 and wonder which is the better camera?

I would suggest you compare the product reviews of each model and decide which one you would rather have. Here are links to reviews from Steve's Digicams, which has pretty good, thorough evaluations of many cameras.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/fe250.html

Based on his conclusions I would consider the FE230 as possibly an even better value,

Hope this helps and good luck!

It all depends on what your field is.
Action sports, or fast moving objects.
close-up photos for reimaging or e-bay spots
Just get yourself the simplest digital that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

The 250. I just got one yesterday for my pops. It has several modes (stability, night, in-camera user guide, etc.) and looks super sleek. OfficeMax is selling them for $199 this week, with fee bag/kit.

I just got the FE-240 myself & really like it. I really has tons of options (I'm still learning). But so far, it's great. I too just got a laptop & did a bit of editing, so far so good. I have no complaints.

I found a olympus fe-240 camera and I need help?

I found this camera and with no cords or anything. How do I charge it and where can I buy a usb?? Does the usb charge the camera?? I found a usb on ebay for 1.41. Could I just buy that?? Thanks for your help

First: Have you attempted to find its owner? You can log on to the Olympus site and let them know you found it and include the serial number.

If no one claims it after, I think 90 days, you will want to buy an Olympus battery charger (only ... other chargers may overheat the battery which at a minimum reduce the life of the battery, but may cause a fire or worse cause the battery to explode) Then use the card reader on your computer to copy the images from the memory card to your computer (or spend $10 for a 2.0 USB card reader)

fhotoace is right. i agree with him. don't claim the camera yet just because you found it somewhere. you gotta look for the owner first. i'm pretty sure you don't want that to happen to you too. and if it does you would hope someone would return that cam to you. right?

just a simple ethical advice my friend.

How to put date-stamps on pictures taken by Olympus FE-240? I mean automatically!?

menu, settings, date stamp, ON

what kind of memory ship does the Olympus FE-240 take?

i bought this camera and it has 20 mb on it's own, and i dont know what kind of memory disk does it take

xD-Picture Card (up to 2GB)

At best buy...Either of these will work
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=abcat0404005&type=category

If you dont mind ordering online, this is a great place to get it with a few more affordable options.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010070068+1053107941&name=xD-Picture

As you will see, walking in and buying it at best buy will be $70 for 2 gigs, but ordering it form that site will be only $30 + about 3 shipping.

I would get no less than 1 GB, and preferrably a 2GB card. For some quick info, 1GB = 1024MB. Each picture is probably between 1.5 and 3MB.

an xd, it is wider than the xp. u can get it at best buy

An XD memory card. and possibly could also be compatible with SD type. But definatley an XD. they come in varying sizes.

What do you think about digital camera olympus FE 240?

if you like it
go for it
go to yahoo search
type the name of the camera followed by the word review

can you zoom in on a picture on a FE-240 olympus camera and then crop the picture you zoomed on to that size?

the thing is, i dont know how to do this, and i need to learn how, because i cant find the instuctions in the manuel. its really bugging me.....
ok, lets replace the word "crop" with "trim". i hope that helps...

Sure but with a camera like that why not just take a not so much zoomed in pic and crop it that way. Make sure you are taking pics at the camera's highest MPixel rating.

That is what I would do.

new FE 240 olympus digt camera. it has 2 types of memory cards-h/m. does the m card still record videos?

FE 240 DIGITAL OLYMPUS CAMERA. there are two types of memory cards XD type M. & XD type H. type H is designed specifically for video recording and type M is designed specifically for taking pictures. but if i purchase just the type M, can i still record videos?

Yes, but an option to record at a higher quality may not be available if you use the M-type card. Consult your manual for further details.

dropped olympus fe-240 and lens wrecked!?

i dropped my olympus fe-240 from standing height onto carpet and the lens then struggled to move and would keep going in and out but not totally close and wouldnt let me take photos.
i very stupidly pushed the lens in and now its like stuck!
is it possible to get this fixed and at what cost?

R.I.P. Olympus FE-240. You may now use is as a paperweight.

Repair would be at your expense and likely cost more than a new camera.

Enjoy shopping for your new camera. I suggest one of the Olympus Stylus SW models since they are shock-proof to a 5 foot drop and water-proof.

Which Digital Camera? How is Olympus FE-240?

I'm planning ot buy a digital camera. I'm thinking of Olympus FE-240 which is 7.1 MP with 5x optical zoom and 2.5 screen. The price is around $200 in my country and I've seen no other models/brands with this price and with 5x zoom. The only thing that CNET says is that it doesn't have any manual settings like all FE series, and is a bit slow (5 second for shots, is it slow?!).

So what do you recommend me? Is it a good choice?

It seems to have a lot of good features usually only found on more expensive cameras. (Li-ion battery, nice large pixel count on the sensor and nice 2.5 inch LCD)
