What are some are some good quility photo printers for an Olympus FE-340 camera?

I do have a limited budget but still want to buy something worth my money (300$ tops). Any information on any product would be really helpful. Most of my pictures are of inanimate close up with lots of detail. Thanks for any help =D
oh, and will I be able to use other cameras from diffrent brands with it?

I agree with the first answer, except that his cost per 4x6 is slightly off. Here is a link to a site that examines this issue in great detail - if you are interested? You will be amazed at how much some printers cost to operate. One is upwards of $1.87 per 4x6 full color print!
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/living-color,905-11.html

Though there are many online sites to have prints made at for good prices, I use my local CVS drugstore. I simply log in to my CVS account, and upload the pics which takes only a few minutes to do. Then, I send them off to CVS in cyberspace, and they are ready for pickup at the CVS store of my choice in less than one hour. And you can send them to any CVS location that offers color picture printing in the entire U.S.! This could come in really handy if you have relatives or friends in other states that you want to send pics to. Usually a 4x6 costs about .19 cents, but they have a lot of specials when you can get them for as low as .12 cents each. In short, you have to pay only $6 and some change for a stack of 50 nicely printed 4x6 full color photos. I would recommend using this, or a service similar to that for your color printing needs. But of course, that's up to you.

You really might want to think twice about buying a printer. Here is why .The cost of using a home printer is anywere from 25 cents to 35 cents for a 4x6 print. Most retailers and online services can do it for 20 cents or less. And they will be a bettor quality! The stores have printers that cost thousands of dollars and people trained to use them.
There is the hassle of ink cartridges and paper etc. Since you say your pictures have lots of detail that is even more of a reason to use an online service or a store .Maybe you could use the money you were going to spend on a printer and buy a bettor camera?
I have 4 digital camera's and a free photo printer that came with one.
It sits in a box becouse I know my prints will look bettor and be less expensive using either Kodak or Fuji developing.

How do I blur the background on an FE-340 olympus camera?

I would like to get help with this feature. I cannot find it in the instruction book.

Thanks greatly!!

this will be a bit tricky. you gotta set your digicam to macro. and focus it on something really close. then compose it to the subject you wanna shoot and you'll get a blurry background. it'll be a bit hard but it does works. i tried it with my old olympus cam before. fe-280 i guess that was the model.

It will be very difficult for you to do it on your point & shoot camera. About the best you can do is use the 'Portrait' setting.

How to get the date to show on photos of Olympus FE-340 ?

No matter what we do we can not get the date to show up on pictures we download with this camera. This is a work camera and it is very important that the date show on downloaded pictures.

We have set the date via the camera menu as the instruction manual shows, but we must be missing something.

We would appreciate any help anybody can offer. Thank you.

Easy, I thought. I was wrong.

I've been right through the FE-340 manual. It just doesn't have 'date stamp'. The time and date will only be in the EXIF data associated with the image file. You can see it when you hover your cursor over or right-click 'properties', but that's not what you want.

I thought most cameras had that feature, but now I know better. Sorry I haven't helped much.

Edit: Still looking! Not what you're after, but you can set the camera to print the date when you use PictBridge directly to a printer (page 34 of the manual).

if you did what the manual says and it does not work... call the manufacturer of the camera, service department.

Fighting Saints,

Look through the Olympus FE-340 menu for a feature labeled "Date Stamp" or "Time Stamp."

Just be aware that the date is embedded into the picture data and can't be removed.

Another option may be to look at the EXIF data of the image if you are trying to date pictures. Photoshop, and many other image editing programs allow you to look at the EXIF data of an image.

Hope that Helps :)

Best Regards,
Dusty

What camera should I get: Panasonic LZ-8 or Olympus FE 340?

I am trying to decide what camera I should get between these 2. (or if their are any other better choices around the same price range you may tell me about them to). I take mostly scenery and wildlife pics (in the field, mostly at my camp. I also take a lot of family and sport pics.) Any help is appreciated, thanks for stopping by.

LZ8, no doubt, it's the best in it's class and price-range
look www.dpreview.com and check the budget camera test

check out the canon sx10 or panasonic fz28

I am looking for a simple to use, compact digital camera. Olympus FE-340 or FE-320 which is better?

They seem very similar in compactness and being user friendly.

Is it true that Olympus FE 340 won't work with a SD memory card?

I have a 1GB SD card for my previous camera. I'm gonna buy the Olympus one but do I have to buy a XD card?

Yes, the FE 340 only accepts xD memory cards.

I have an olympus fe-340 and i would like to know how i can copy pictures from the internal memory?

onto my memory card.

Read the manual, it will tell you.

If you lost the book, go to the Olympus website and download an electronic version.

how can i charge a battrey of my olympus FE-340 camara?

how can i charge a battrey of my olympus FE-340 camara? does it support USB charging. if it does then where can i find the drivers for my camara

Whats the difference between the Olympus FE-340 and the Olympus FE-330?

The FE-340 is the successor of the FE-330, which is no longer in production.

The FE-340 (when compared with the FE-330):
- is available in a new color
- has more internal memory (48MB vs. 20.5MB)
- has spot AF
- has ISO 800, 1600, and 3200 (compared to 640 max.)
- ability to record videos at 30fps (compared to 15fps max.)
- is slightly smaller/thinner, redesigned
