Which camera is better, the Olympus stylus 820 or the stylus 1000?

I found out after the fact that the person i'm buying it for used to have the stylus 1000 bfore they lost it, but i bought them the stylus 820. Will they like the 820 after having the 1000?

If you need 'waterproof" then the 820 is the camera for you.

The 1000 has a larger sensor and has a higher pixel count, so should produce higher resolution images when set up properly.

How do you manually adjust the ISO on an Olympus Stylus 1000?

i know you have to go to the menu > camera menu > ISO but it won't let me choose that option, when i try to select it it just goes right past ISO and onto the next thing on the list. anyone know why? thanks in advance..

You can only adjust the ISO when you use the P mode. All others have automatic ISO settings that can't be changed.

On the Olympus Stylus 1000 how do u set up self timer?

need steps! :D

You need to put the camera in record/shooting mode...and then press the down (bottom) button on the 4 way controller that's on the back of the camera. This will enable you to activate the self timer.
Or alternatively, you should look up 'self timer' in your user manual.

Camera Lens stuck on Olympus Stylus 1000?

It was dropped three days into a journey in kenya. How can i get it fixed? there are no visible marks/scratches, and it just goes up and down, without stopping. the screen still works, if not a bit blurry. any help would be greatly appreaciated. it was bought on may 8th this year!

My computer specs are (laptop) -

INSPIRON| E1505
Windows Vista Home
2 GB RAM
80 GB HardDrive
3.2 Ghz

WebCam specs - Stylus C@m 1000

Minimum requirements - 98, Mac

I can get this web cam to install and work properly on my other compuer which has windows XP.

I can get it to install properly on my laptop but when I go to run the web cam it freezes. If anyone knows how to fix this, patches anything please let me know. I'm quite desperate being I can't buy a newer one.

Check with your WebCam supplier whether it supports Vista. Few devises doesn't support Vista.

You can also check their web site whether any updates available for your web cam driver specific to Vista.

i will be using it to click pics on vacation & at home parties & also some home video. all suggestions welcome.

Sorry, I would say no to both. The MJU 1000 has really noticable noise at 200 ISO thats really bad for cameras now adays. Same problem, fuzzy pictures though. Go with the Canon A640 or A630, both take excellent pictures in both day light and low light. Pictures are crisp and better than the Sony and Olympus cameras.

How can I get a replacement stylus for my pda(gl 1000 hitachi pocket pc). I just can't seem to find one.?

Try ebay they defidently would have one if you dont like the idea of ebay you should try going to the manufactorers website and search for your PDA.

Epson stylus R230. Trust me i had both already. Epson its also much better.

I have an Olympus Stylus 1000 10 MP camera and it seems like the only time I get clear and sharp pictures is when I'm outside. I'm guessing the light in my house isn't bright enough or something. Does anyone have any tips?

Higher ISO, a lower aperture and shutter speed are all settings that have an impact on the amount of light that reaches your camera's sensor, which in turn impacts the probability of camera shake.

I have been looking at the Olyumpus Stylus 1000 (10 megapixels), but I heard Canon has better cameras. I would like something with great picture quality, a short time lapse between photos, and have many different features like image stablization, face detection, etc.

I just bought aFuji 6500fh a bridge camera.
It's a cross between a SLR and a compact Camera.
I just love it, check it out.
Cost around $350-$400
