whats the difference between the Olympus STYLUS 1050 SW and Olympus MJU 1050SW?

which one gives better quality? which one is better at fast speed instant shooting? which one if better with no camera blur? (image stabilization) and just general whats the difference?

They are the same camera. One is marketed under a different name. Just like the Canon Rebel XDi is a D400 in Europe. Some, but not all companies name their camera models slightly different names to help define which market area they are from. For instance a Canon 450D or Kiss is not covered by the US warranty. Only the Rebel's are, yet they are exactly the same camera.

I am thinking of buying this camera for my boyfriend for his birthday but haven't found a lot of reviews. My primary reason for choosing this camera is its claim to be waterproof/shockproof/freezeproof. My boyfriend is very active and enjoys being on the water and snow skiing. He is not really into photography so image quality is not as important to me as the durability, but I don't want to buy him a camera that doesn't take good pictures. Can someone share their experience with this camera? Thanks!

I own its cousin, the 850, as a back-up camera that lives in my purse.

Being a little P&S, it has all the usual limitations like shutterlag, image noise and low light issues, but otherwise there is nothing wrong with it.

Sounds like a perfect camera for HIM.

I'd just like to see what pictures people have taken with this camera. I've been thinking of getting one and I just want to see what it can do. Also, if you like, you can add what you think of the camera. Please and thank you.

I have the 850SW, which is quite similar.
I like the waterproof and shockproof features, but other than that, they are still only an ordinary little P&S camera.
As such, they work fine when the light is perfect, but show very poor results in low light (lot of noise on higher ISO). they also have the same old shutter lag issues.
However, you will find that is true for all those little cameras, so it won't make much difference which one you choose.

The biggest difference to your photos (other than buying a DSLR) is to learn about photography - the operator can learn to compensate for many problems if they know what they're doing.

Olympus 1030 SW and 1050 SW Comparison?

I see that Olympus are bring out their latest Terminator of a digital camera, the 1050 SW. I looked it up and the 1050 is going to be about $100 cheaper then the 1030.

What is the best waterproof digital camera?

I have been looking at the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW. Are there any better models? I like that it is waterproof/freezeproof/shockproof. Are there any others I should consider? I don't really want to spend over $300. Thanks!

You're only real alternative for a waterproof camera is the Pentax Optio W series. I have the W10 and it's not that great of a camera. The newest one is the W60 which is much better.

Hello, I am planning on purchasing a new digital camera. I was thinking of either a CANON OR OLYMPUS.
I was at the Olympus website and I noticed the underwater cameras.
THEY ARE CALLED 'STYLUS'. There is different options and I'm wondering which one has the best quality?

if ur for the details, id say go for canon. but if youre the sporty/water lover kind of person, then go for the oly 1030. 1030 gives average pic details though, but then there will be lots of "active" photos you can take with the oly you cant have with canon. unless you use those "protective thingamajigs", which btw i dont like. :D

The 1030sw is rated for deeper water and is more shock resistant. From what I hear they are pretty tough camera's. Either one would suit most people.
