olympus stylus 730 screen cracked need a new one anyone know where i can order one or a repair place?

My daughter dropped my phone on my olympus stylus 730 digital camera screen and it cracked. Its not an LCD screen because it's not all blank when I turn it on. I can still take pictures and view them. It's just the actual screen that's cracked. Anyone know of a site where I can order a part or a repair shop? Anywhere around San Francisco and surrounding cities. Thanks!

Olympus has a repair center in Cypress CA, you can contact olympus and they will email you the repair info and can give you an estimate

Olympus Stylus 730 & SDHC 4GB Memory Card.?

I just bought a Olympus Stylus 730 digital camera including a SanDisk SDHC 4GB memory card. One of the Circuit Ciry assistant told me this memory card would fit in the camera. When I look at the slot though it look way different than the Memory card so I want to ask first if this is the right Memory card.

Olympus cameras take XD memory cards, NOT SD! SDHC stands for secure digital high capacity, it has nothing to do with high definition. They gave you the wrong card. By the way, that is a really good camera, but the cards are a little more expensive than SD cards. The highest capacity card available in XD is currently 2gb. Take that card back to Circuit City and make them exchange it. Good luck!

check in manual
some cameras can't handle sdhc
if you don't have high definition
you don't need that kind of a card

Should i buy the Olympus Stylus 730 or the Canon Powershot SD 750?

both screens are 3in. i just dont know which one to choose. what is your personal experience on either camera? pleez help i need a new camera badly. also it has to have both mac and pc compatibility.

These cameras spec out quite similarly, but the Canon is the winner to me, if for no other reason than the fact that it has an optical viewfinder.

I lament the passing of the optical viewfinder and I would choose almost any camera with an optical viewfinder over one that only has an LCD viewfinder. Why?

1. You never have the option of turning off the LCD and these things eat batteries for lunch and spit them out. Why do away with the option of a viewfinder that has zero electrical drain?

2. It can be difficult to see the image on an LCD in bright sunlight, even if they are "new and improved."

3. You have to hold an LCD viewer out at some distance in front of your face. This is more conspicuous than I prefer to be all the time.

4. The need to hold a camera at arms length will introduce some shake. I like the idea of stabilizing a camera against my face when I am taking a picture. This is especially important with a longer zoom lens. No wonder "image stablization" or "vibration reduction" is necessary with these cameras. Not that there's anything WRONG with IS or VR, but it is really a requirement with LCD viewfinders and telephoto lenses.

5. Using the LCD to view photos after you've taken them slows down the camera quite a bit. You can't shut of the LCD monitor and still take pictures if you don't have an optical viewfinder.

There are not many user reviews on either camera yet, but go here and actually read the comments.

For the Olympus, a few said that the menu structure was tedious and the shutter lag was horrible.

There is only one user review for the SD750 so far:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read_opinions.asp?prodkey=canon_sd750
but there are several for the similar SD1000:

CANON POWERSHOT SD 750 its the best I used to be a photographer and it was one of my most frequently used cameras IT IS MY BABY!!!

I have heard better things about the Canon Powershot camera. I would recommend that one.

dpreview is a great comparison site. here's the side by side for your two cameras:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_sd750%2Coly_stylus750&show=all

For me the Canon would be preferable for several reasons. The lens is a wider lens (5.8mm vs 6.3mm). The lens is a brighter lens (2.8 vs 3.5). Plus, like somebody else said, it has the optical viewfinder. That will save on batteries. And the feature set is far superior. i.e. all the VIVID photo effect settings (if you're into that sort of thing).

Hope these hints help.

what are some advantages of the olympus stylus 730?

Advantages of the Olympus stylus 730 compared to what?

Casio EXILIM EX-S770 or Olympus Stylus 730?

Which to keep? I purchased both cameras because I could not decide... Casio takes much better movies and also does wide screen but Olympus is much better image quality for Photos.

I plan to use equally for movies and photos.

Does anyone own Casio EXILIM EX-S770 who can suggest setting changes to increase image quality for Photos?

Thanks in advance!

As with ALL digital cameras, setting the camera to shoot at its highest resolution will always increase the quality. Why shoot at any other? You spent the money for the camera, use it at its best.

The Olympus looks sexier, but it will not use the SD memory card which all but three camera companies use. It also has a slightly larger LCD. Both use the state of the art Li-ion batteries.

Here are the specs side by side.

Selling a D. Camera is it worth it?

some guy want to buy my camera for $200 bucks including 2 of 1GB memory card

this is the camera.

While it is an old camera, it still has some life left in it.

Yes, $200 seems fair and since your next digital camera will probably use SD or SDHC memory cards, selling the Olympus with some xD memory cards is a good plan

Help me with my camera! Please?

Ok so I have an Olympus camera...I don't really know much about it so I'm just gonna type what's on the camera itself. Stylus 730 All-Weather 3x zoom 3.0" LCD Digital Image Stabilization 7.1 Megapixel. I think that should be enough to help you identify what kind of camera I'm talking about here. Anyways, I lost the charger cord for it. It charges by battery and all you do is take out the battery [it's a square lookin one] and stick it in it's charger. The charger has a cord that connects the charger to an outlet. So does anyone know where I could buy another charger for it without having to pay for the whole camera and everything again? Because I don't need another one. And I totally forgot where I bought it.

selling and buying a camera is it worth it?

my friend wants me to sell my camera to him for 200 bucks including 2GB memory card
this is my camera.

is it worth it?

Yes it is .. the difference between the M1093 and M1033 is the IS feature on the 1093 .. well worth the little more in cost.

And they use SD / SDHC memory cards ... the standard of the industry.

which is a better camera.?

For the price and bang for your buck id go with the Kodak camera. Truthfully though all three are pretty mediocre, nothing real special about them. Kodak used to (and I didnt see it in the spec you posted ) use a Karl Zeis lense which was a known as one of the better lenses out there. Expandability the Kodak has cheaper memory cards and and can buy the optional camera docking station.
