Where can I buy an Olympus Stylus 780 in the Philippines?
Why the Olympus 780? There are so many others to choose from.
Has anyone purchased an Olympus Stylus 780 recently? If so, how is it?
I've been searching for info on this model's shutter lag, speed, etc. and can't seem to find it anywhere. Similar models were said to be lacking as far as speed, so I figured I better check this. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
I have not, but
go to yahoo search
type name of camera followed by the word review
Help with an Olympus Stylus 780/U 780 digital camera!?
I have the digital camera stated above. When i take a picture it records a few seconds of audio with it. I dont want the audio, i only want the picture, becasue the audio just takes up memory and takes time to save on the camera so i have to wait before i can take another picture. How do i turn off this setting of capturing a few seconds of audio with each picture?
I would read my manual and look through the menus.
Failing that, I'd look on the Olympus website.
STYLUS 780 is it good camera?
While the pixel count is good, the sensor is a little small. Optical zoom is above average at 5x and it has Image Stabilization.
On the negative side, it uses a non-standard xD card (most current Point and Shoot cameras use the SD card). It is a bit flimsy and the contacts can be easily damaged if you are not careful when changing cards.
But, to give you an idea of what the previous model was like...Here is a quote from a review of the 760... "I must admit I'm never too sure what I am going to find when I review a digital camera from Olympus. I have to admit by being disappointed by the majority of their cameras I have reviewed recently."
and... "The Olympus MJU 760 falls short in my view when it comes to the all important picture quality."
So, you should wait till the reviews come out...to see whether the update has improved image quality.
Which Camera? Olympus FE 240 / Stylus u 750 / Stylus u 780?
Is it worth paying around $50 more to get the second or third one? Or the first is good enough? I need it for common parties or picnics, not professional photos.
i'd go for the FE 240 if it's just for capturing memorable moments, but if you want professional pictures that look really good get the u780
How can I upload photos from my digital camera when I lost the USB cable?
I have an olympus stylus 780 and I lost the USB cable to connect it to the computer. Are there any stores that sell a replacement cable? Or is there something I can use to connect the memory card directly to the computer, I have an olympus xD-picture card. I don't want to buy this online, I would like to purchase a replacement cord or a memory card reader at a store. Any ideas?
what digital camera should I buy?
plz give me a good reason on why u think i should buy the camera u chose . i really wanted a olympus stylus 780 but that is too expensive right now ( over $300) . i want something under $300 from sony , olympus , nikon , or cannon . it should also be compatible with windows vista because i just recently got a vista laptop .

Hi back,
The "Vista Ready" refers to the software they send so you can do some "digital darkroom" things like resizing adjusting levels and a little special effects. The images produced by the camera are compatible with all computer operating systems. For that reason I would suggest you look closely at the 750 because it is in your price range and has Image Stabilization (IS).
That said, while the Olympus camera is a good one, they still for some reason do not use the most compatible memory card, the SD. This is too bad since once you own the memory cards for that camera brand you will only be able to buy upgraded cameras in that line (and some Fujifilm). I also like the 5x optical zoom (you can forget any digital zoom features because they only crop in the camera and result in inferior images).
So in final analysis you can compare the three I have linked and see what you think. All three have IS and will produce excellent images. Nikon has of course the best optical zoom range if that is important to you. Panasonic has an exceptional lens (as good as the Nikon and Olympus). All three use the state of the art Li-ion batteries which not only hold their charges longer, they actually last up to at least six years (personal experience).

Where can I get a cheap and reliable printer cartridge (keep reading...)?
My mom gave me her Epson Stylus Photo 780 printer to take to school and it hasn't been used in awhile, so the cartridges aren't in great shape.
Where can I get cheap but great quality ink cartridges to fill it? (Any stores or websites?)
Thanks!!
I have used cartridges for several years from Carrot Ink.com. I have an Epson Stylus CX and get 3 black and 2 colored with free shipping for $50.00. Their customer service is very helpful also. Make sure to clean the print head before you use the printer. Their phone # is 1-877-322-7768
Help me decide best compact digital camera...?
I've been looking at every resource available. To the point it has become a bit obsessive... which of these two cameras would you recommend.. and have you had any problems with either?
Canon PowerShot SD870 IS (IXUS 860) - $458
Olympus MJU 780 (Stylus) - $244
Olympus comes a lot cheap but doesn't have a the 3 inch LCD or Canon reputation... seems to measure up in most other areas...
cheers
Kim Komando has excellent Q & A about really any techie needs. The other site is the best photography site and has extensive info to help you decide on a camera. Hope you find what you are looking for!
Which Camera Is Better?
Olympus Stylus-710 Olympus mju 780 or Casio Exilim EX-S880
I was looking at some reviews of the Olympus' and they were mixed. I have no experience with Olympus or Casio, but i have heard when compared to Canon's, they are far inferior. I suggest you boycott the Casio and Olympus idea, and get the Canon powershot SD1100, i ordered one online for a friend, and used it for a while. It is a great camera, the images are quite sharp. Read those reviews, they are Great for the most part. Here is the link:

This is probably the most bang for your buck you can get in the point and shoot category.
