Is 8GB memory stick pro duo Mark 2 compatible with Sony cybershot DSC H50/B?

I know memory stick pro duo alone is compatible, but not sure about the Mark 2. Any inputs / thoughts?

Yes, it is compatible according to Sony's website.

Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 or DSLR?

i was thinking of investing in a good camera and came across the Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 and i thought it was sort of like DSLRs and plus it had 15x optical zoom.
but i dont know,is a DSLR alot better than the Sony Cybershot DSC-H50?price is not a factor.
could anyone tell me which is better for me?im just starting out in photography and im going on holiday soon and want to use the camera to take pictures of the scenary.

if your choice is DSLR,please recommend a model.im not really keen on canon though.thanks

There are three huge differences in a P&S camera like the H50 and a DSLR like the Nikon D40, Canon 400D or Sony A200.

* The size of the sensor on P&S cameras are over 15 times smaller than the above DSLR's
* All the settings on a P&S camera are automatic. DSLR's are fully adjustable cameras and can shoot in Program mode (a lot like a P&S camera), aperture and shutter speed priority and manual
And perhaps the most important,
* There are lenses available from fisheye to extreme telephoto ... not available on any P&S camera.

I will give you one guess which camera has the potential of producing the highest quality images

IF price is not a factor? Go into a camera store and hold a Nikon D3 in your hands and test out a couple of different lenses from wide angle, standard, macro to telephoto. At present it has the best reputation as a pro digital camera that is affordable.

I started looking at high end point and shoot but ended up with a dslr. Considering the size of the sony you are looking at you may as well get a Dslr. The image quality will be better and the DSLR's are affordable these days.

I opted for any Olympus E520 with a twin lens kit because it is a good balance of quality, portability and value. It will give me all the scope I need for growth..

Besides ...a super zoom will end up as landfill..at least with a DSLR you recycle the lens when you upgrade the body!

Does the Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 Challenge entry level dSLR cameras?

you can change the shutter/aperature settings.

No, it does not. Far from it. It is merely a compact with a lens with bigger zoom range. It lacks a removable lens of a slr. Shutter lag is considerably slower. High iso images.... are miles away from what a dslr is capable of. It's tiny sensor does not match a dslr's. It does not have weather sealing for protection against harsh weather. It does not feature a hot shoe with which you can attach an external flash. It does not feature RAW capture capability. It does not have the wide range of assesories a dslr has. this, and much more why the h50 does not challenge a dslr.

No

* it has a very small sensor
* no ability to use interchangeable lenses
* no user control of the shutter speed or aperture except using the aperture or shutter priority automatic modes
* cannot use an external flash

Nikon Coolpix P80 -or- Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 -or -Canon Powershot G9?

I'm looking for a solid point and shoot camera. I know SLR's are the best, but I don't want to spend that much cash right now. I want to keep it below $450. Does anyone have any suggestions about the cameras models I have listed? Nikon, Canon, or Sony? Thanks in advance.

I would prefer sony ,because i personally experienced the difference,i first bought nikon p80 but the quality of the picture is too low even though its a good brand with 10mp and 18x zoom ,when i tried with sony its the best, its got zesis lens and also smile technology and many other modes to play with ,The ISO sensitivity is also good .......price is only same .dont get exited by llooking at more zoom and mp but go for a better quality

i loove Nikon Coolpix P80..the best! I wanted to buy it but I found something cheaper and great too..

but P80 is still better..:)

Is that a question?!!!! Sure Nikon Coolpix P80.

Which one is a better Digi Cam Cannon Powershot S5 IS or SONY SONY Digital Camera - Cybershot DSC-H50/B?

They do have similar specifications:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_s5is%2Csonydsch50&show=all

If face recognition is important, then the Canon is the way to go.
If you already have SD memory cards, then the Canon is the clear choice.
If time laps photography is important then the Canon is the one.

But if a longer optical zoom is important, the Sony is the one for you .. you will just have to buy Sony's propriatary Memory Stick's and pretty much stay with Sony products as you upgrade in a few years.

Canon S5IS camera

I have to buy a dig camera.I have 2 options Canon powershot S5 IS & Sony Cybershot DSC H50. which 1 is better

Both are good cameras. I like Canon S5 IS because it has a hot shoe. You can mount an external flash on it and this can improve the quality of indoor flash pictures.

Comparison between Lumix DMC-FZ18 and Cybershot DSC-H50?

Can anyone tell me the pro and cons between both cameras? also how does the 2 camera compare any hands-on user opinions? since I'm really torn between deciding which of these two models to get.

According to the specs, they are very close. I would lean towards Sony because Panasonic cameras usually suffer from noise problem even in low ISO.

Which is the best suited digital camera among these three models to meet out the family requirements?

SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-W300,
SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-H50/B OR
SAMSUNG NV24 HD NV SERIES.

Check this camera. FUJIFILM - FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital. This is more camera for the money.

Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD screen. Would suggest that you find one that also has an optical view finder because the LCD screen is almost impossible to see in bright sun.

Higher mega pixels may not really be the best thing to look for. It is more expensive, takes longer to process, and may not be needed unless you are making a really large picture or blowing up a small part of a picture.

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best just know how to use the one you have.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual.

The source links will show most of the cameras out there with prices and help make your digital cameras work better.

What memory stick do you need for a sony cybershot?
