How to capture video from a sony hybrid DCR-DVD710 to final cut?

I have this Sony camera that records in a mini dvd and the installation program that comes with it is not for mac so I cant capture the video in my laptop a powerbook G4, and of curse it doesn't have a firewire exit.
Can some one help me I need to edit this stuff ! I use Final Cut

If you have a mini dvd camcorder….
You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

You may take a look at this guide, it will teach you how to capture video from camera to Mac

Sony DVD cameras operate fairly easily. Once you are done filming what you need to film, all you have to do is finalize your disk (from within the menus of your camera). This allows the disk to be read in any DVD player or computer with a DVD drive. However, the files are now encoded in a DVD format, with chapters for each "file". The Sony cameras come with a program package called Picture Package. It includes DVD Viewer, which allows you to take the files from the DVD and put them onto your computer.

To use the program, simply insert the DVD into your computer, open the program, select DVD as your source, click on videos, select all the files you want to copy, choose your destination (where the files will be downloaded to) and click copy. (This sounds complicated - it's very simple). Once this is done, you can either edit your files with a movie editing program such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie or upload them directly to YouTube.

Although this seems lengthy, the whole process of getting the files from the DVD to your computer takes about two minutes.
